TEEN MOM CALLS 9-1-1 FOR PERMISSION TO SHOOT INTRUDERS BEFORE KILLING ONE USING 12-GAUGE SHOTGUN
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/mom-calls-9-1-1-asking-for-permission-to-shoot-intruders-before-killing-one-using-12-ga-shotgun/ Eighteen-year-old Sarah McKinley and her 3-month-old son were unharmed when two intruders tried to break into their home outside of Oklahoma City on New Year’s Eve. Her husband had died from lung cancer on Christmas Day, and when she realized intruders were attempting to break into her home she had nothing to do but grab her 12-gauge shotgun and pistol, and call 911. She spoke with the operator for 21 minutes, making sure she had the right to shoot if the men forced their way in. “I can’t tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby,” the dispatcher told her as she held the infant with a bottle, according to KOCO. She ultimately pulled the trigger. One of the men, 24-year-old Justin Martin, McKinley is believed to have been stalking her since her husband’s death. ABC news reports that McKinley barricaded herself in her bedroom with the baby and guns. When Martin kicked down the bedroom door, McKinley’s maternal instincts kicked in: “When Martin kicked in the door and came after her with the knife, the teen mom shot and killed the 24-year-old. Police are calling the shooting justified. ‘You’re allowed to shoot an unauthorized person that is in your home. The law provides you the remedy, and sanctions the use of deadly force; Det. Dan Huff of the Blanchard police said.” Martin died and the second suspect, Dustin Stewart, currently sits in jail. Investigators are searching Martin’s car for evidence that the home invasion was premeditated, KFOR-TV reported. “I wouldn’t have done it, but it was my son,” McKinley told KOCO. “It’s not an easy decision to make, but it was either going to be him or my son. And it wasn’t going to be my son. There’s nothing more dangerous than a woman with a child.” Amen. |

Sad all the way around. He had parents too. Bull. He had no business breaking into another person's house with a knife. I'm not sad at all for the guy. He got what he deserved. He was probably going to steal the baby and sell it to the cults in Oklahoma who kill babies for their Satanic rituals. Oklahoma is full of Satanic cults who worship draconian gods. They drink the blood of children. |

That is sure human of you. Again it is sad all the way around. Sad she had to do it and sad for his family. It is sad that she had to kill someone. But justice is justice and that was karmic justice. When you live by the sword, you will be likely to die by the sword. That man brought about his own undoing. It is what it is. I hope he takes that lesson on to his next incarnation. I don't grieve for his death. I grieve for his disease with his own life. I hope in his next life he will be given a chance to do better. |

If she had only wounded him, he would probably have sued her.

I'm with JB on this one. He got what he deserved. I just want to know why it took the police more than 20 minutes to respond! What if she hadn't had a gun??

If she had only wounded him, he would probably have sued her. Yep. |

Actually his parents will probably sue her for killing their son.

Sad all the way around. He had parents too. He brought it on himself. You take a huge risk with your life when you decide to break into someone's house and go after them. |

Actually his parents will probably sue her for killing their son. I thought of that too, but I doubt if they will win that case. |

Sometimes a woman does not have the stomach for killing someone for herself, but she was protecting her baby.
People will go above and beyond bravery when they are protecting someone they love. A mother who would die for her child is not to be messed with. She will kill you if you threaten her child. That is nature at work. |

Actually his parents will probably sue her for killing their son. I thought of that too, but I doubt if they will win that case. You're right. So they will sue the police department. And they usually just settle to avoid the higher expense of a trial. I shot someone once as a cop. The parents sued and got a settlement. It happens every time because the cities are willing to settle. I did hear recently though that Los Angeles was going to stop that practice and start fighting. It may be more expensive up front but maybe these people will stop suing after a few losses in court. |

Once they start settling, then every time they do their job, they will be paying out money. That is tax payers money. |

The 18 year old Mckinleys' husband had just DIED of cancer on Christmas day......
The TWO.... idiots attempted to break into her house on New Years Eve. His accomplice fled, but turned himself in later.... They didn't leave her with any realistic choice, but to shot...... |

His accomplice fled, but turned himself in later.... They didn't leave her with any realistic choice, but to shot...... I would really be interested in a follow up story about what his accomplice told the police. They say he turned himself in. I would like to know what their intentions were. Where they after her, or the baby? Were they robbing her, or were they going to rape, or kill her? |

I just heard on the news a bit ago that they are charging the accomplice with murder.
And, I guess it took the police so long to arrive because she was in such a remote location. |
