Topic: Dating and Relationship Advice Needed!!! | |

Merry Christmas Everyone-
I was a catholic priest for 9 years. When I was ordained, the child abuse scandal errupted in the Church. I was traumatized by it. Furthermore, I have always struggled with the idea of not being able to ever have a family. My culture and family was the main sources of pressure for me to become a priest. After 9 years of struggles, I recently decided to leave the active ministry. Currently, I am a chaplain for a local hospital and would like to do prison ministry someday. I am so new at this whole dating scene and I am naive when it comes to relationships. I always thought that people truly care about each other so obviously I was shocked to learn that it is not always the case. Any way, if you have any advice for me about dating and relationships, please send them my way. Thanks so much! |

One of my uncles was going to the prisons to preach services at one of our prisons. I have taken AA to the prisons. I went to a female prison and had a prisoner paroled out to me. She has been with me 4 years and recently got off parole. She has her room and I have mine. Recently when her friend gave her a new bed my dog, Lady got her old bed. Lady shares the bed with Crazy Cat. I am so happy to have my bed back. It was just all that scratching with the cat and the dog's hair I was constantly having to brush off the sheets. It is true what they say about going to bed with dogs. You can wake up with fleas. I just couldn't handle my bed turning into a zoo.

Apparently you were raised in a wholesome environment surrounded by love. And that is a good thing. The Bible says: " Ye are the salt of the earth:"... Matthew 5:13 That is your purpose and your ministry. Sharing the goodness and the Blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon you. Between your Biblical studies and your wholesome upbringing, you have a lot to share with others. As concerning your relationships, perhaps you should set before you, as a goal, to find a woman that has similar values as yourself. Or someone who is at least in agreement with your ministry and will respect your calling; and whose goals you can respect as well. Just take your time. "Be anxious for nothing." Do the Lord's work... and while you prayerfully do that, the Lord will: "supply YOUR needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus". Merry Christmas to all! |

Pray and seek the face of God before going into any relationship.
