Just today i had some dude near me basically end the conversation right after i admitted this. Would you still date someone you were into if they didn't have a car? I've dated carless chicks before and would again. It makes it harder for them to escape! ![]() say it loud say it proud! |

---- If I met someone without a car, I would think they were saving hard earned $$ for something else. |

Just today i had some dude near me basically end the conversation right after i admitted this. Would you still date someone you were into if they didn't have a car? The reason others don't date people without cars is the same they would not date a car without a person. These things are mutually non-exclusive. One can't exist without the other. If you don't have a cart, you can't call your baggage "load", and if you don't have any load, your cart is not a carrier of loads. So rest assured that as long as you do not have a car, it will take the same amount of time as it will take until you do get a car, period. That's about the long and the short of it. Sort of it. |

UJG, nice new picture :-) ---- If I met someone without a car, I would think they were saving hard earned $$ for something else That's being too general. I had my reasons for not keeping my last car. Too dang expensive. When i sold it i was planning on buying a new one because society thinks i should. I ended up using the money to pay bills and other payments that needed it more. And for the most part i was saving for myself. No i don't miss La rush hour gridlocks. |

Just today i had some dude near me basically end the conversation right after i admitted this. Would you still date someone you were into if they didn't have a car? It really depends on where they live. If they live here in the city, it may be doable, but if they don't, then no. I have no desire to drive someone everywhere. |

Just today i had some dude near me basically end the conversation right after i admitted this. Would you still date someone you were into if they didn't have a car? at forty with children, a car is pretty much necessary for a partner,,as I have one BUT, temporary setbacks once we are in a relationship are a different situation |

Generally speaking for me, if the person was completely adept at not having a car..i.e. self sufficient, uses public transit, rides a bike, skates etc. most of the time, is able to afford a taxi or to rent a car as/if needed and isn’t bumming and expecting rides from others all the time, I would be perfectly okay with it...as a matter of fact I would admire it. It is actually a freedom I wish I was brave enough to pursue; I still have a lot going on in my life though and I am too selfish to give up that control at this time.
so...,no it would not necessarily be a deal breaker for me...as long as me not being available to give rides wasn't a deal breaker for them, and/or conversely, as long as me not being ready to give up my car wasn't a deal breaker for them....for some truly dedicated folks, it could be. |

Not having a car is a huge plus in my book! Assuming she is a biker, walker, or public transit person. (If she just sits at home or begs people to drive her places, thats lame.) But girls who bicycle are hot! |
