"First and Main"
Sleep won't come so I'm rockin on the front porch swing… Decided I wanted to walk uptown to First and Main… Muggy air, traffic noise, sidewalk neon lights… Intoxicated voices spilling cool speak in the night… Humid, hot, and sticky, no bra, my shirt felt damp… The air was drifting fog like under dim street lamps… I felt a stirring in my loins while strolling down uptown… Tight men in tighter blue jeans, bar jive all around… Leaning against a lamp post on the corner of First and Main… I saw a man I can't forget though I do not know his name… My damp shirt now was looking like a second skin… The sweat between my breasts wet and glistenin…. I slowed my pace just a bit to take in more of him… Muscled arms, narrow waist, a body made for sin… So close now I could smell him, cigarettes and beer... I wanted to get closer, I wanted to be near… Not one word did we speak as his eyes met mine… I felt his touch before it came, the feeling was sublime… My mind now blank was melted by the heat of hungry lust… My pounding heart said take me, take me if you must… I don't remember how we found that secluded grassy knoll… I don't remember what he said or what to him I told… What burns forever in my soul and still can make me wet… Is the gentle way he took me and the way I want him yet… His touch was like a shock wave, it blurred my memory… No longer two, just one now, his love inside of me… After it was over I languished in his arms… We felt no need to speak just gazed up at the stars… We stayed like that for hours then just before the dawn... Waved goodbye at First and Main, looked back but he was gone… |
