I think the term "taken" should not be used to describe being with someone....sounds like they were abducted Ya cause like if someone has "taken your car keys" that implies a bad thing. Or "she has taken my VISA card out of my wallet", etc. that is always bad. : to get into one's hands or into one's possession, power, or control: as a : to seize or capture physically <took them as prisoners> b : to get possession of (as fish or game) by killing or capturing c (1) : to move against (as an opponent's piece in chess) and remove from play (2) : to win in a card game <able to take 12 tricks> d : to acquire by eminent domain 2 : grasp, grip <take the ax by the handle> 3 a : to catch or attack through the effect of a sudden force or influence <taken with a fit of laughing> <taken ill> b : to catch or come upon in a particular situation or action <was taken unawares> I prefer that someone be currently "amused by me". a : to entertain or occupy in a light, playful, or pleasant manner <amuse the child with a story> b : to appeal to the sense of humor of <the joke doesn't amuse me> I do not like the word "smitten either". : to strike sharply or heavily especially with the hand or an implement held in the hand 2 a : to kill or severely injure by smiting b : to attack or afflict suddenly and injuriously <smitten by disease> 3 : to cause to strike 4 : to affect as if by striking <children smitten with the fear of hell — V. L. Parrington> |
