The provision of chemical precursors from United States companies to Iraq was enabled by a Ronald Reagan administration policy that removed Iraq from the State Department's list of State Sponsors of Terrorism. Leaked portions of Iraq's "Full, Final and Complete" disclosure of the sources for its weapons programs shows that thiodiglycol, a substance needed to manufacture mustard gas, was among the chemical precursors provided to Iraq from US companies such as Alcolac International and Phillips. Both companies have since undergone reorganization and Phillips, once a subsidiary of Phillips Petroleum is now part of ConocoPhillips, an American oil and discount fossil fuel company, while Alcolac International has since dissolved and reformed as Alcolac Inc.[24] Alcolac was named as a defendant in the Aziz v. Iraq case presently pending in the United States District Court (Case No. 1:09-cv-00869-MJG).[citation needed]

It is true that wartime production of weapons, incl. manufacturing and or development, progress at a higher rate than during peace.

If this is such a huge problem, let's start a war. Not against Afghanistan or Iraq, those countries are not a match for US arms.

I'm thinking more along the line of US vs Japan and England, or US against Russia and Kazakhstan.

If these things work out, you know, term-wars, say for a year or two each, which are staged to help cheapen the cost of weapons productions and development, then maybe down the road we can organize organized Special Olympics of War; a sort of a competition who can build better weapons and faster and cheaper and deadlier and safer for the operator.

This would also get rid of the overpopulation problem, which is really bugging the shhhhhh out of me. Why are there so many of us? Why can't we make a draft like durning Viet Nam, and whoever gets selected by the gov computer, gets to kill himself. This was almost equivalent to the 'Nam war, where thousands of Amys died, and billions of Viet people died.

I don't know why nobody ever listens to my solutions. They are sound, logical, and would make a very nice "This Month's Very Special Story" in Reader's Digest. Movie contracts would follow with the Disney Studios, most likely a children's story or a steamy musical like "My Fair Lady".

Or if there are no takers for a friendly game of pick-up war, then maybe the US could get the nation to fight another civil war. This time with space age weapons. Maybe more than just two teams, maybe each major city could have its own war team. Standings would be tabulated, in terms of cost, efficiency, dead heads, and devastated country sides where nothing ever grows again.

This is where I see the cheap and effective super-weapons prouduction get, with all natural ingredients, and 0% free of hydrogenbombated vegetable oils.

The weapons would be first avaiable in Low salt and Low fat modes, then cholesterol- and lactose free, then 1%, 2%, 0%, and the traditional 35% and 18% edible oil product content ratio.

In fact, let's all get up and do it. It's such a great and funny project.

Who wants to raze Arizona into a dry weather desert? I want to see a show of hands. First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin.

"There is a thin line between insanity and genius, but there is no difference between terror and the war against terror."

The F-22 is one of the most impressive military craft we have ever had(with exception of the F-117) and if things continue to get bad with Pakistan, Iran, N. Korea, China and Russia EVERY American will be thanking whatever god they pray to that we have them in our service.
Oh god another war monger, can we realy afford another victory like Iraq?laugh

They are all grounded right now due to mechanical issues lets hope them ruskies can hold off another 6 months untill we get them flight worthy.

Yes we can and I think the millions buried in mass graves from Saddam and his sons will agree with that.
Please provide a valid link to this wild claim.

Agreed Saddam did many horrible things but all the while allowed it untill it came time to grab the oil.

I think I read those mass graves were from the Iran Iraq war by the way. Its mind blowing so many americans are so uninformed and by every piece of propaganda that comes down the pipe.

So many americans are deluded to think Iraq is better off because we blew it to hell up rather than live in relative peace under Saddam.

We saw how america acts when arab people rise up to demand change we ignored it the best we could.

If you have oil however we will force regime change and then call you a terrorist and torture if you resist.

Occupy something allready eh?

No it was from Saddam gassing the Kurds and killing his political enemies and potential rivals and the graves of women that he and his sons brutally raped and murdered and Olympic Athletes who didn't win a gold medal. I can keep going if you want.
Any valid link would be fine. what year did Saddam allegedly gas the Kurds anyhow? What was americas responce? Were did he get the gas from any idea?

Gasing of Kurds begin in ernest during the 8 years of Iran/Iraq war.

Got them from old german supplies. Most used was 'mustard' gas delivered by rocket.

Sometimes they claimed it an 'accident'. Most of the time it was just part of the campaign.

I did not have to look it up.

I read about it as it was happening.

News existed then just as it does now.
