So I've had more thn a couple of guys ask me out to the movies as a first date, and I just find that less than an ideal place for a first date.
It's dark, quiet and at that point, I don't think we know each other well enough for him to see me eat popcorn.

What is your idea of a good, or even a bad first date?
Feel free to share your experiences as well.

Sounds good.
I agree with you, a nice quiet place where we can chat and just get to know each other.

Restaurant where you can just talk. Outdoor concert or movie is good too cause it doesn't invoke intimacy.

A nice first date is a picnic by the water. Somewhere ..where there is quite a bit of people around to make you feel safe. It is a calm environment, you have the ocean sounds and a nice view. It creates comfort and you can share a simple meal out of basket with nice conversation.

So a nice, quiet romantic dinner seems to be what people define as a good first date. But what is your idea of a bad one?

Movies don't make the best first dates, as you can't talk to each other. I prefer somewhere that we get a chance to talk and get to know each other. Most of the time, it doesn't really matter where the date actually takes place.

I'd probably skip the quite, romantic dinner on a first date, as I'd want to keep it a bit less serious and more relaxed. The pressure for romance on a first date might make it a bit awkward.

Lol I thought I was the only one who thought that. If he's trying too hard to impress me, I sort of start feeling like maybe this isn't the real him.

Perfect date for me? Going out for ice cream. Who lies over a McFlurry?

Not too serious if it isn't a black tie affair, but if you go to Italian or a buffet and sit and talk for a while then this is good enough for me.

Now a bad first date is Mcdonalds cause that makes him seem too cheap but the only thing worst is going somewhere secluded cause that means he might try to put the moves on you if he can...

I usually meet them at the park with my dog. She's an excellent judge of character.

I love first dates!

I plan them to be fun with lots of time to talk and get to know one another. First stop is coffie. Aftere that a game like darts or pool. Next a meal. Then on to a nightclub for a drink. After all that we'll usually end up back at my place.

First dates are awesome!

Hit the dollar menu at the McDonalds drive thru. (I don't expect her to spend alot of money on me)

Then drop $2.68 on a bottle of Mad Dog to get "in the mood".

Then get felt up in the back seat just like in 8th grade in Wal-Mart's parking lot.

Waking up hung over and realizing she is still here. So I jack $20 out of her purse, throw a box of pop tarts next to her then slip out the door and don't go home or answer my phone for two weeks.

Cause I am a romantic who knows how to treat a lady.
:)

I've also taken a few first dates to a strip club and paid for her to have a lap dance. That's fun!

Bad first date would definitely be a strip club cause his mind isn't where it should be it's on the other mind... Aren't you dating to find that special one you want to be with for life? Would you like her to invite you over to her house for your first date and have a bunch of friends and Chippendale dancers giving her pleasure in front of youhuh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh

good to see you're dating.

if he asked me to the movies as a first date and I like him I'd go and hope there might be some time after to talk - at least the film is something to talk about (I'm shy - so this really is not a bad option for me)

but most don;t like it because you can't talk. But me. I do not talk a lot at first anyway

the meet & greet over coffee gets stale...also if he is someone IRL who I am acquainted with a meet & greet really isn't necessary

if it's someone from online - if I am not thrilled once we meet at least I don;t have to talk to himlaugh
