It is said that:

"Success comes to those who deserves & not to those who desire!"

But,is it possible to succeed in any task without having a desire?

Even if you get something without any desire,do u treat it as your success?

Do u enjoy it same as that one for which u desired much?

what success means to you?

Success comes in small strides for me. I find it at every turn happy ...when I have to fix a leak in my sink and don't know squat about plumbing. I know all I have is me; so I have to find out how and get the job done. And when I accomplish something that I've never done before...which has been so much living alone and taking care of a house...I give myself a big pat on the back! Now when I have a desire like going back to school....I ACE it drinker .

Depends on your definition and how you choose to measure it.

Some define success by social status, material wealth and possessions/assets. Some by career progression, which although can increase your wealth but IMO is different. Some by life goals and emotional well being..I think I’m extremely successful in the latter

I just spent a lot of time replacing a ceiling fan and light setup with a dome like light. The wall had two switches with one for the old light and one for the old ceiling fan. But now it doesn't matter as you can turn either switch on and the light works. Success in that it works but I don't think I installed like it was designed.

This is an interesting question you asked OP.

Another interesting one to ask is "if I undertake a task, and screw it up royally, do I take credit for successfully screwing it up? even if I had not wished to screw it up."

Or:

I do not desire a relationship, coz it's emotionally draining, and also coz too many rejections taught me to forget the struggle for the graces of a woman.

So... that said, and I still get a woman, must I feel unhappy, or should I feel unhappy, coz I did not desire to get a woman, though that's heaven for me?

This is a tough proposition you put there, OP, and very honestly? I don't know how to answer it.

success? I don't care about it. I just want to live my life and want the users and haters to leave me alone. when I succeed at something it is because I am just doing what I am supposed to do

so what? it' s what I'm supposed to do...

To me success is not so much about what things you have but if you like the person you see in the mirrow.

I had a very successful day except that I just realized I missed a spot when I shaved my legs this morning. So, does that take away from my success? What if no one noticed? Or maybe they did and they just didn't say anything. Sigh.

Hmmmm I am a successful Mum.. My children are far from perfect, but they are mine and they love me to death, so how could I not be successful.

I am a success in my job, I am far from perfect at it and tend to laugh through most days, but people keep coming back because our work is welcoming,

I am a success just because I think I am, I don;t care what anyone else thinks and I love my life.

So I guess success is more your own point of view, do you think you are a success or do you pull yourself down.

I've become a resounding success at my job twelve years ago. Twelve years of not one sick day off, not one messed up piece of work, not one fight with coworkers. Nobody else has this track record since I got fired and been out of work for twelve years.

I am the world's second best lover, and I am a legend in my own mind, when I say that the tip can reach the inside of my head on the dome of the skull. No witnesses, but I feel successful.

I am the world's best father, inasmuch as I avoided having children, and saving them the suffering what having me for a father would have meant for them.

I am successful with god. This is a subjective statement, as there are as many bible translations as there are bible translators. (Have you ever thought about that? No single bible translator makes two separate and different translations. Makes you wonder.) In other words, one man's scriptures is another man's trash. For instances: What do you think of the Quran? or of Mein Kampf, or of the Kommunist Manifesto? Well, there you go. Hitler hated the Manifesto, and Marx hated the Bible. The islamists hate the US constitution, and the US people hate being called haters.

For me...

Success is when I am standing tall and proud of the job I did when no one else is around.
