Loose myself in music. Arrange to meet up with a good friend and work our way through a bottle (or four) along with loads of ciggies.
Thats what I do when im depressed.flowerforyou

Well, minus the ciggies now.sad2

Giving up ciggies is a good thing...allegedly  Feel for ya flowerforyou

Have also heard that using alcohol to relieve stress and/or depression can bring you down even more...I justify it by telling myself that spending time with my friends is reliving my stress and the alcohol just helps to loosens the lips laugh
Works for me!

When you're stressed out, how do you handle it? What do you do for stress release?

I don't get stressed out. I handle it by not letting it occur in the first place, preemptive strike as you will.

It's all about your philosophy in life if you do it this way.

It's not important enough to get stressed out unless it affects God, family or country...simply not important. And I believe in Freedom of all types...religion, politics, personal idealogy so it is hard to get me going in stress.

Kind of depends what I am stressed about.

If it is people stress I think I have to tolerate I usually just go work in my garden. Ripping up weeds and pruneing so forth is great substitute for wanting to rip somebodies head off.

If it is physical stress (pain) I try to distract myself with a craft or if it is accute then I may swim or soak in the hot tub.

Financial stress I try to tighten my belt, barter, and look for coupons.

Thing I have learned is whatever it is that is stressing you will either kill you, which in most cases means your problems are over, or it doesn't and then you have survived so you really don't need to stress over it.

up to 2008, I trained in martial arts, the forms or poomsaes helped to draw attn away from the stresser as you have to focus on your breathing, your pace, the form itself... but...for me, nothing relieved the stress better than getting the frustration out by putting on some gloves and punching and kicking the hell out of a heavy bag...to the point of exhaustion. I highly recommend it for anyone not finding relief by other means...For me stress these days is nothing compared to past years so it is pretty easy to deal with. Mingling seems to be just enough.

I have learned long ago dont stress. Things dont change a bit just because you are stressing. Stress causes headaches, ulsers, stokes, and even heart attacks. Plus, didnt Christ say dont worry about tommorow?

For believers Christ said it. For everyone else Fleetwood Mac.

For me, I'm into both.

I mingle.
Seriously.
When you see everyone else's problems
it makes your own simply disappear.
If they make me laugh=no more stress :-)

That's perfect for me too!!

I find that shooting my bow works for me.

But the best way for me is to go out and shoot guns. (BIG GUNS)

The bang, the smoke and the target exploding makes me

feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I drink a glass of berry wine.

And if that doesn't help, St. John's wort
taken for 2 days.
