Doncha just love that part of Texas??? Miles and miles of .......NOTHING!! I've never been there unless it was in a truck or a bus. I've had miles and miles my whole life...it's my maiden name... giggle

It looks as if nothing is there. But in fact there is so much history there it would boggle the mind. Now it's a place for dropouts..people who have given up on the rat race and are looking for a simple life. Writers, old hippies, and just plain ol runaways..They all have dreams of the old way of life....and then when they get there, only a few stay because of the hardships...but they do have the best all time Chili Cook Off!!! hundreds of people show up...bikers and others...it's an all out brawl of a party..anything goes...and does!

My brother-in-law broke his back in a car accident. They put him in a full body cast. He wanted to go to the Chili Cookoff in Terlingua so my sister stuck him in the back of a van where he rolled around on the floor like a bowling ball all the way from Luckenbach. It didn't do his back any good.
