Topic: Nervous Men | |

OK, other than the nervousness, how did the date go, what about his other attributes? Were you physically attracted? If you could take away that incident, what was the man like overall?
Or was he nervous the entire time? It's probably not the best idea to paint with such broad strokes, all men are obviously not nervous like that but reading between the lines a little bit here, are you trying to say that this incident caused you to believe most men really are that nervous but hide it and that this one clued you in to this hidden truth? |

I think one reason men shake so much is because of pent up sexual frustration. I know after the honey moon night my shaking seemed to calm down.

Well, like Lowered wrote, it's a confidence thing, mostly. Probably a self-esteem issue too. I personally don't have problems with someone who is nervous, if he or she is honest about it. That's probably why I can be an extrovert well enough to make people comfortable. Get them to relax, and they'll get over being nervous. A lot of it is family upbringing. Someone who was shy, yelled at for it, or in general etc. will be more obviously nervous then others. It's a lot of why I prefer people with animals, who are comfortable with them. You can't really be nervous around animals, because they'll getting upset themselves. Cool confidence wins every day. After all, nervous up on a 1200lb horse could get ya killed. And we won't even go into cattle and their reactions. It's what gets people in trouble with dog bites. exactly!!! want to see if someone is decent, go to a petting zoo for a first date. if all the animals are freaking out around them then find someone else. but if the animals are all around them and wanting attention then they can't be too bad. That theory about animals or kids doesn't work as both seem to like me but I sure don't feel the same way. Obviously kids and pets don't have the sense to know I am not comfortable around either. So much for that theory. I've found that a benign dislike seems to be ignored by animals. That tends to bring out the curiousity in them. Kids too. I personally don't care for kids but would never hurt them. Now an active, aggressive, or malicious dislike definitely shows response from animals. The ex who threatened to behead the parakeets liked my black dog but resented the deaf dog. He would poke and tease her when I wasn't looking and she didn't like him. I blamed it on the cigarettes when he was trying to quit, because he was openly mean and would make her yelp. Later I realized there was more to it. |

yes- as to the animal and kids theory. Animal are usually sensitive to things that people may not be. nonetheless they seldom react in anyway noticeably different - which is why I pay attention when they do
I always watch animals reactions to people, and children |

well i know i have a good response to animals, my ex (this was when we were married)and i went over to a friend of hers and we walked out to the pasture and they were playing with some horses and one walked up to me and stood right there by me, the owner looked over and her jaw dropped and she said that horse has never went up to anyone before and they always had to catch her if they wanted to do anything with her. she couldn't believe it.
another time i was at a some peoples house and was sitting in a chair and they're wolf/shepard hybred dog came right up wanted me to pet him. same thing, they're jaws dropped and they said he has never gotten close to a stranger in the house even if it's someone whos been over a lot. maybe it's just me? i seem to like animals better then people so who knows? |

Yeah I am not comfortable with pets or kids but the things you described are horrible. |

Not me; I would never like an animal or a human being; especially dogs. I was walking down the street minding my own business when a doberman bit me for now reason. Ever since then; I have been afraid of dogs and don't want them anywhere near me. When I go to my friend's house and a dog jumps on me; I absolutely freak out. |

He was nervous the entire time! No --- not all men are, but most of my dates are nervous as hell. I mean for God's sake why??? Really?? I am never nervous on a date, I am like hey if it works it works if not then not. Just keep it moving......... No big deal. We can handle it if don't work out. It's only a date.

Allow me to point out the obvious....
women can chop off a mans penis and throw it into a garbage disposal or out of a car window....guys don't have that option.... we are nervous for a reason. :) |

When I was in high school I use to be a touch nervous. Then one day I realized "she's only one woman. There are many, many more out there and she, probably, is nervous as well. She has to put her socks on one at a time just like me".
Now I talk to women without any heightened expectations. I talk to them like I would any other person I meet without being nervous. If nothing happens no big deal. |

Nervousness used to be my close friend in my early years before, but it makes someone stupid sometimes, especially to a woman who is looking up to you, and most women dislikes it, so i had to change it, but can never be eradicated it completely, the higher you like someone, the more nervous you become when meeting her for the first time, but you have to let yourself know you are the man, and she is the woman... Its just like going for a work interview or delivering a speech lol

Meet a chick on neutral ground...strip clubs are always good ice breakers, as are swingers clubs. I mean...if you and her can't talk about the surroundings at those two places, then it just wasn't meant to be. Haha!
