What do they have to do with each other? usage retarded : slow or limited in intellectual or emotional development or academic progress RETARDED has a legitimate definition which isnt offensive at all, meant to apply to those with ACTUAL development issues I have seen a commercial lately comparing it to the N word, because its USAGE often is meant to insult people , to talk about those who are developmentally healthy but BEHAVE poorly LIKEWISE< although GAY has a legitimate unoffensive definition(s) it is also often used to insult people or demean, to talk about those who are not in fact HOMOSEXUAL or HAPPY but dont behave in the proper gender accurate behavior or to refer to behaviors or events or things which are 'unpopular' a person READING the statement 'marriage is so gay' , could read that any number of ways and one of those ways is obviously that it could be meant as an INSULT marriage is so retarded, would be viewed the same way, even if the person wearing it was themself mentally retarded, and supporting the rights of mentally retarded to marry the wording is too AMBIGOUS to really be necessary in a family environment |

Does the park clearly state outside the ticket booths what the dress code is? Or what is considered offensive? I support gay marriage, but incidents like this make me second guess my support. They are trying to shove their beliefs and lifestyle down peoples throats. It is a private business and private property and they can enforce a dress code if they like and for these two to make a big scene well is pathetic and makes me reconsider my support. Rules like this are in place to make sure people don't get not only offended but to keep the peace. This is a heated subject and wearing a shirt like that especially in Tenn. could cause violence. It's not just shirts like this that they ban, it's any short or clothing that could be offensive. I guarantee if someone wore a shirt targeting gay and lesbians they same thing would happen to them or someone wearing gang clothing or clothing with profanity on it. I think personally if there are going to be impressionable children in a park then Adults should take the time to think about that before they get dressed to attend that park... I don't think it has to do with rather they are gay or straight or man or woman it has to do more with having a little respect for others. This 100%. Those 2 are just giving bad names to other gay people who are nice, respectful, and wouldn't wear something like that to a family park. I verbally tresspass(Tell them they will be arrested for tresspassing if they come back) them when they come to my door. So, you DO agree they are 'cramming', right? Otherwise, you wouldn't feel the need to admonish them. That was my point. Actually, I've found it usually best to leave well enough alone, because you never know how zealous they are-- they might send their spawn around to do vandalize your property or harass your children at school. I guess I should say, those who are offended by a shirt like that tend to be more on the religious side. Again, not always, but many are.
