The whole concept of avoiding the death penalty to avoid harming innocents is Fallacious!
First and foremost this can lead to a host of "What Ifs." Sorry but a fool would rather the release of 10 killers to save one innocent life. That has to be the most foolish thing I have seen expressed in a while. First things first I like Texas's fast track system. Got Film of a criminal killing someone? Eye witnesses? Well, the criminal is screwed! That is how it should be. BUT... Should people testify falsely, a DA push for a punishment when there is uncertainty and suddenly proof the sentenced was innocent? Or worst, what if the DA is conviction hungry and pushes to punish an innocent just to keep his numbers up? Then the death penalty should apply to the DA, lawyers, and any and ALL witnesses who lied including police officers and anyone else who's testimony lead to the death of an innocent. It sucks in ideal yes but in defense making it so the death penalty is reflexive towards those who would use the system to murder innocent people is a protection that should be in place. Now for those who are career criminals. If the person in question is a thief and keeps winding up back in jail, well three strikes they serve 20 years at hard labor. No Camp Snoopie. Quarries, Gravel Yards, Digging holes in the desert. That kind of stuff. Three time violent felon? Three strikes and they should just DIE! By the third sentencing it should be clear that person has no desire to live among us and our laws as a "law abiding citizen" and if we can't get rid of them we should CULL THEM like diseased animals with terminal conditions. A person should have learned their lesson by conviction number 2. Frankly in my opinion no prison sentence should be more than 10 years unless someone died and then the death penalty should apply automatically. A question for those against the death penalty... What if (YEP, I went there) a car thief, a career car thief and gang banger stole a car and in running from the police ran your child over killing them? how long a prison sentence would you hope for? Life? So now we have to support someone who wound up killing someone committing their crime? They get to live while your own child lost their life? If it was my kid I would be demanding blood and demand to witness their execution. Sorry all but I want to see some of the human trash culled! There are way too many of us as it is and we have to tolerate the bad ones among us? I don't think so! |

The 'eye for an eye' mentality seems a popular one....
where does that come from? If only those who take a life have their lives taken...what is to be done with the rest of the felons, just keep them locked up? I happen to believe that anyone who commits a horrible crime against another is terribly ill..sick in ways we can not even understand. Shouldn't we help them to heal..or just 'kill them back?' |

Just because a person has a felony conviction doesn't mean that they need to DIE. no, it's better to let them live in a prison for the rest of their life, on our dime.... 530 dollars a day per prisoner, times 30-50 years, is way cheaper than a bullet.(about 37 cents per bullet) 
The punishment should be commiserate to the crime. there's a lot to be said for the "eye for an eye" laws...but another way to look at it is the lawbreakers know what they are doing, and know it is against the law...murder should be met with death, anything that destroys another life should be dealt with accordingly... there is an over crowded prisons thread --in politics... i thought this was about killing criminals and watching them die so you want the criminal to die, but you don't want to watch? i don't need to watch |

I ask you again, how are these facts considered "bashing Jews?" I don't even know who spread that Lie, I just know it is a lie. Personally I think Jesus was a fictional Character. Lies. That he "is was Jew" ridiculous. Lies. How is that "Jew bashing?" What is wrong with you? Why do you accuse me of "Jew bashing?" Hmmm In australia there is no death penalty..
Personally i dont want it. However i do think that most people here get off to easily. What would I want to do to them i have no idea, but to me as foolish as it sounds killing one wrong person is too many. |

There are 4 good reasons to start having public executions of convicted felons. I think we should stick with two options. Firing squad and hanging are sensible choices since rope and bullets are cheap and plentiful. We'll shoot the badguy/gal and hang the really badboy/gal. They should suffer a little more. 1. Their criminals, they deserve to die excruciatingly. 2. It will save us law abiding citizens a bundle not having to house them, feed them, give em an aspirin. 3. It will create revenue for each town that carries out an execution because......this is the best part, there will be a cover charge! 4. It'll be good family fun, take the kids. People love this ****! How much should the ticket be? What's a fair price? Would you go? How much would you pay to watch someone suffer and die? I think they should make islands out of waste a few miles out to sea and put them on the island to fend for themselves. I mean the rapists, murderers, molesters, those type. |
