Well, I am one of the "pot heads". Been smokin it since I was 15, am now 43. I do not concider myself an addict as I can go without for a good period of time an not feel the effects of with drawl. I have had a complete medical work up, my slate is very clean I assure you, even heart an lungs. Alcohol kills more people every day than any other drug. I never heard of anyone causing an accident because they were on pot. No one goes into the psych ward cause they smoked a joint. My other half has "Brain Disease" caused by an accident. The drugs they put him on are BAD..take forever to work, have nasty side effects. I told him to smoke..He has cut out 3 of the 5 meds they gave him,an sleeps sooo much better. Dr. said " GOOD FOR YOU, do what works" as your scripts are over $900.00 per month. One will NEVER convince me that pot is addictive or dangerous. Tripping on pot? Never heard of it, ever. Paranoia is caused when yer brain knows you did wrong and people may notice..its in yer head.{ do i look stoned..are my eyes red?..etc.} Fear of getting caught. The feeling is natural, just enhanced. This however changes when the smoke is "treated" with some thing else { enbalming fluid..Raid, or yer smokin that stuff called "wet"}. This is just my opinion, my veiw..not meant to make any enemies. Live as you want..life is short. I got a hold of some weed laced with PCP. They called it Tulsa Tops at the time. I thought I was Pac Man and the white lines on the road were power pellets. I can remember asking who was driving the truck and I was the only one in truck. I pulled off the road. I thought the top of my head was like a chimney and was on fire. I do not like green eggs and ham. |

You guys are gonna be sad when you hear that Alcoholism is no longer considered a disease. (Journal of Modern Medicine)
Marijuana is not now nor has it ever been addictive. Heroin is addictive. Crack cocaine is addictive. Alcohol is addictive. Butt loads of prescription medicines are addictive. Internal organs don't shut down when you stop smoking pot. I consider this subject an individual "Live and let live" thing. But, alot of people have an entrenched: 'I don't believe what you believe so you need to believe what I believe' mentality. (also true of religious and political beliefs) |

unlike alcohol and many other drugs cannabis has no long term effects on the brain.
it simply builds up a temporary film between your neurons it will be gone like it never was there now the problem lies in what else is in there pcp ,crack ,heroin i find on its own its no more additive than chocolate if it was legal this would not be a problem addicts will be addicted to anything shamans used drugs to talk to GOD i feel it would be beneficial but if it does become legal im sure they will take the good aspect out of it |

When I moved to Az years ago (70's)and went to work at a big doctors office (8 drs)and was getting ready for our office party, some of the girls filled me in on "Chrissy's brownies"..
Stepson is bipolar with lots of problems.. He told me that he no longer takes his meds but smokes pot as it works better for him and is cheaper... |

weed does not effect everyone in the same way thus some have hallucinations some dont some it helps pain not be so painful others it make pain worse most it makes hungry but not all but it is not a drug it is a plant and it is not processed into a different form before it is consumed thus it is a plant and technically the federal govt does not have the power to make it illegal that is the federal govt stomping on the "peoples" and states rights again ------------------------------------------------------ Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#Am10 |

I don't smoke anything and I seldom drink (but sometimes a lot!). In the Prohibition Era we decided that booze was bad and made it illegal. That didn't work out so well as anyone who wanted a drink found it easy to get one. Today, weed is plentiful just like booze was during prohibition. The drug gangs who supply America with pot and other drugs, have been made wealthy by the laws against pot just like the gangsters during prohibition.
I think pot should be legalized as it would probably have no effect on the number of users. It might bring in a ton of tax money which we could sorely use. It would probably greatly reduce the money made by the drug gangs. It would also allow the DEA to focus on hard addictive substances like crack and heroin. In contrast, I think being stoned, drunk, or texting while driving are crimes that should be punished by fines or jail time as appropriate. |

Im curious why some people want to control everyone else, its often because they think they know best. No offence to the OP or to anyone whose opinion might differ to mine
Possibly half of what the general population think they know about pot isnt true. Hemp is an extremely valuable plant to humanity, it has served us for millenia. The emperor wears no clothes still it seems. Its all about the dough. The fact that weed is an intoxicant is a very convenient way to demonise one of natures true gifts to us. I am amazed at Christians or any religious denomination for that matter, who seem to think they know better than their God(s) and have the right to criticise one of his(her?) creations in such a self righteous way. Tolerance, Peace, Love, and Freedom. Try and find some of that when the bars are closing on a Friday night, but I dont want to ban booze because someone chooses to get drunk, start a fight, beat their wife and kids etc. 0 Deaths from this *around the world* to date. If thats a poison its the most cr@ppy azzed poison I have ever heard of. |

I don't like weed for myself and do not like the smell of it at all, I tried a few times in life and it is not for me,
As for it being legal or others using it, I have absolutely no problem with either. My only suggestion though is if a person is unemployed and needs to find a job soon. They shouldn't smoke it for two reasons one being drug testing for employment but maybe most important all weed heads I have known are so lazy when they are high that they don't want to do much of anything. Outside of that I hope they enjoy it as much as they like or if it helps with health good deal. |

I'm all for legalization and making it the same as beer in a bar. "Hey barkeep, give me an acapulco gold please."
I haven't done anything for 30 years now, quit without a thought. |
