hi, guys, as what i know life start at 60's because this is the age that we can contemplate our past and compare it to what is happening recently in our lives. 
 Welcome to the 50's!
We don't contemplate much around here. We just do and say what we feel like.We have a lot of fun and try not to look 'backward' too much, except for wordwalker, he get's confused a lot and rides his horse backwards. Welcome jemilinia. When I turned 50..everything started to ache me..now pushing 53..wondering how I'm going to feel when I 60..LOL  Mine hit me,,last year so at 53 I FELT OLD ,,,now at 54,,I just KNOW I AM,,,lol wow,,my fingers need a break,,,OUCH,,my neck popped,,,OUUUUUUUUUUUU,,my back hurts,,,
Heres to long living well,,and nice living old,,,,now can someone pass me a cover,,I'mfeeling kind of cold,,,,,

I thought by the time I turned 50 that I would be done playing with dolls. But then I got a job as a CNA. I just made 5 years at the place last month. I was always real scared to dress the wives with the husband in the next bed. I am the only male aide he really trusts to change her otherwise the nurse or a female aide he asks for. They are in their 80's. I try to be real careful not to wake him as he is ambulatory and doesn't need help. So I am being real careful to walk into the room in the dark with the hall door open till I can turn their bathroom light on which doesn't shine in his eyes but allows me to change her. And then he says why don't you turn the light on so you can see better. After that night I just come into their room just like normal with a slight knock on the door because he has excellent hearing. He tells me that it easy for him to get back to sleep. So I just go into the room like it is nothing any more and talk to him while she and him think that this isn't just trying my emotions, nerves and feelings like it is nothing. It just brings me back to those wonderful days of rehab when they told me to fake it till I make it. I haven't made it yet but I am getting there.

At 53, I'm doing pretty well ... I've got a 9 yo that keeps me on my toes. But every now and then, I get a reminder that I need to slow down.
Like this week. They are doing the fall insecticides in my apt. complex and I had to go to the ER TWICE in as many weeks with a full-blown asthma attack. I haven't had one in over a decade. Boo.

Thanks, Viv, I am better. But now everyone but me and my youngest have strep ... know a good hotel I can stay at until the rest of my family isn't contagious anymore???
