Topic: Do Women Want To Be Saved | |
---|---|
Many women needs to come out of the woodwork really. Stop with the " I want a long term COMMITMENT" and "I am looking for my soulmate" or "I need someone who will only pay attention to me 24/7". These are scary things for many men. Sure...20-30 years ago, it was all about getting married and sailing to the Bahamas and having 2-3 kids in a big family house with a dog and making sandwiches to guys who were watching baseball on TV. This isn't the same age. We are in a f-kd up society, where things don't work the same way, your "hubby" is checking out your best friend's boob shots on facebook when you aren't looking, or having a giant porn collection downloaded on his computer, where he gets his ideas what to try out on you at night. Not to mention the economy and unemployment and how women are afraid to get a guy, because he may acts like a parasite or vice versa, so let's drop this sugar coated BS about "meaningful" relationships and your "exclusive one-way ticket" guy you are looking for. I can almost guarantee, that girls who would say "hey I'm a single girl and I'm looking for guy who is gonna stay with me for a while and makes me sweat at night, but also makes me feel good, but otherwise leave me to be" - would get 1000 times more views than some politically correct " I am looking for a bright shinning knight who will save me from the dragons" -kinda garbage, which only scares men more than women claiming to be mystically empowered ghost hunter fairies. Um What???? You can speak for yourself but you certainly are not speaking for me... I agree that we do live in a messed up society. People don't know who to trust. And we have lost a lot of values. I am reeaaly old fashioned and I have to say, I prefer the disney fairy tale approach. So I do partly agree and partly dissagree :d |

Not speaking for me either. Im looking for a woman to save. I know plenty who need saving and am tired of them not admiting it and going around acting all high and mighty like they don't need anyone. Both women who left me saying "I don't need to be saved" turned out a year later to have gained 100 lbs, completly out of shape, have 3 underparented children, and in debt up to thier eyeballs. Men have a part to play in a relationship just as women do.

by a man or do we just like the idea? 50 and long time single myself, I can't imagine giving up my independence. I really think we just like the idea that someone would actually be willing to 'save' and take care' of us, not really ever do it. Um I have no idea, I would like to be saved but I dont have anything to be saved from, But definately am not interested in independence, I just want to share my life with someone who loves me.. Oh and someone who I can love and respect.... Dont want some bad boy who doesnt want to grow up.. |

For what it's worth, i've definitely kept my sense of humor, so as far as needing a man goes, i can't be needy. Also, i can't go relying on a man to run my life. I can do bad by myself

You're right Drew. I've found those wanting to be saved end up worse off. They've no problems using a man or woman to help them, but once the relationship ends, they sink right back down into whatever they were doing before. They didn't accomplish it on their own, therefore it has no meaning. In the end, the person doing the saving is making things worse off, because it took longer for the person to hit rock bottom and fix themselves. You can only save yourself. Life has it's ups and downs and it's awesome to have someone who will work with you through it. But those doing the saving aren't working with the other person, they're doing it for them. The other person isn't working for it. |

But I also hope I never hear about you in the news because you killed your wife/gf and children, when they wanted out of the relationship. Some of the things you say come across like the families mourning over the women and children, or women, or children, when they're discussing the ma going off the deep end and slaughtering them all. The "if I can't have them, no one can" mentality.... |

Hmmm saving someone? I dunno Im not a knight in shinning armor nor am I an authority what needs saving. But If I fall for a woman its not her circumstances or situation that decides what makes me love them. I love them for who they are and so I would do all I could to protect and support that person in any way I could and Id expect the same from her.

Not into the "I can't be with you, so neither can any other guy" mentality, and more often than not, it just causes tension. You really have to look out for the really insecure types. It never bodes well with people who are happy with themselves.
