I;m a fan of the old fashioned names like Jason Jack, James for a boy and Kylie Kristen, Kaylie for a girl ![]() ![]() what about ruby rose or ruby jewell ruby christine i knew 2 people that had the name ruby one girl i went to high school with and the other was a old lady who was my neighbor when my daughter was little |

I'm not a big fan of names where it sounds like the parents are trying too hard to be different. I'd probably also not use names that are very common as well. Perhaps what sounds to you to be trying too hard, is a cultural thing... Australia is not a predominantly christian country...we are a country of every other culture...including our Indigenous..and our children's names reflect that.. perhaps some of the names sound strange to an American's ears...and sounds run of the mill here in Australia. |

I like the name Lanee for a girl and Zerrick for a boy zerrick? now i like that name (veryyyyy odd) ![]() garrett you dont here very often i like that name we all thought it was strange for my nephew and his wife to name there son zennon at first his name was going to be sabasion (i was going to call him saby but they change the idea name after he was born his full name is zennon gregory |

I'm not saying people should not use the the names they choose just because someone else doesn't like them. Those just aren't the types of names I'd use if/when I have children. That's all. Also there are many Americans who choose strange names, too. Most people I know do not let everyone know the names they've chosen for their children until after they're born. Part of the reason, I think, is because they don't have to hear "I don't like that name!" if others don't like it. |

![]() I love Aurora Dawn for a girl, but wasnt allowed to use it so that s what I called my horse.. And Shiloh for a boy but wasnt alowed to use that so it ended up on my Puppy. Hmmmm I think the kids are grateful.. ![]() |
