I have spent the last two days at the Naval Academy volunteering for the Special Olympics. I have to say that it was one of the best things I've been able to be a part of. The kids were wonderful and so into competing and spending time with the people who were there to help them.
If you ever get the chance to volunteer for something like this, do it. It's a great cause and you'll have a lot of fun. |

I used to compete when I was knee high to a grasshopper...not much higher now come to think of it. It is an awesome experience. When I get back to my own private residence I may seriously consider volunteering.

I volunteered to help out when I lived in Germany, I had a good time. But I have not heard about them near me now. But there are plenty of other programs that happen every day that help others out. I help out at a local hospital support groups also now...
