ok, here's another question, what if the guy offered to pay to send her out there, but she's got kids or whatever and has noone to watch them, would that be considered fishy?

I could afford a LDR money wise, It's the TIME that would be my issue.

see i hate what if's i say put your balls on the line if the get crushed it only hurts for a little while. and sometimes they do get crushed

AND! I feel compelled to say this, and I KNOW all guys are not like this, BUT.....I have heard, more men than not, that they have been taken advantage of by women finacially.....ok, so now we have a woman that DOESN"T want to do that, shows some respect for herself and the guy and now something is fishy? Come on.......

the way I see it Any relationship is an investment in yourself, regardless of distance or level of intimacy.

This is true to me because the ones u associate with, share yourself with are reflections of you somehow. They either amplify good qualities in you or they help you become a better person.

so with this situation, maybe she needs to work on something in herself... for example she still has doubts about herself or her worthiness of a positive and meaningful relationship...and if she isnt in a place where she believes she is worthy then.... that could be the deeper reasoning behind the not bearing for him to spend so much on the travel.

Speaking from experience, I did the LD thing, and then moved for him. It ended 10 months later because we really didn't know each other doing the weekend romance thing. Ultimately for the LD thing to work,,, someone has to move.

Well the only other thought that comes up for me is

"Where there's a will there's a way"
