H.R. 1135

one section buried deep within the bill adds a startling new requirement. The bill, if passed, would actually cut off all food stamp benefits to any family where one adult member is engaging in a strike against an employer:
So cut off federal food stamps for an entire family if one person in that family strikes a private corporation, company, business?

Forward - to the 19th Century. RepublicSCUMS are the most evil, wicked ****ers on the face of the earth.

Sponsors of this bill, H.R. 1135, include, GOP Reps. Jim Jordan (OH), Tim Scott (SC), Scott Garrett (NJ), Dan Burton (IN), and Louie Gohmert (TX).

Keep us informed of who all votes on passing it.

It does sound like a fair plan.

I was a Union Laborer for a while.

During strikes, there are supposed to be funds set aside for strikers in dire straights.

We Taxpayers really shouldn't be paying folks to strike.

I can see both sides. Why should taxpayers support a person because they are striking? But why should the entire family suffer? Six of one, half-dozen of the other. huh

bear in mind that the first purpose of the food stamp program is price supports for farmers, not to keep poor people from starving.

Wonder how much of that pay-off is going to the farmers the Gov pays not to grow crops.

I'm convinced that the current GOP hates the working class.

seems like it would be better just to get rid of the unions... if the babies don't like their jobs, get one they do like...i'm all for this... unions suck and all of them should be disbanded

In Colorado that is already the case.

Striking workers cannot get benefits here.

Personally I believe that striking is a personal choice and yes we have to make hard ones sometimes but it is still a choice. Striking is not a circumstance that is beyond your control.

I worked for the welfare office for years before I got diagnosed with MS.

Illegals never got any welfare or foodstamps here either.
The federal guidelines will not allow them to in any state so if a state does give them any benefits it is from their own state money that they do it.

If they strike they can't get unemployment either so it is a hard road for those striking workers.

Given the wage earning capability of a Union worker...

WHAT ARE THEY DOING GETTING FOOD STAMPS ANYWAY!
