I don't consider sponges appropriate footwear for anything.
except maybe the beach.
I think I just dislike them because I hate feet in general.

they make noise which is annoying.

and you can wear them for almost every place you go
guess it depends where you live

They offer no support or protection but I still love them, and I love feet.
Except mens feet when they have long toe nails.

I guess they're just the closest thing to going barefoot in public without actually going barefoot.

i hate that thing that goes in-between my toes with flip-flops... such a nasty feeling

That's the only time I wear them. I just don't like to go into water barefoot because of the shells, and other things that can hurt your feet.

i absolutely abhor them. the only time i'd even consider them is at the pool. ever.

and probably not even then.

Flip Flops are easier to wear when you have feet like this.

Everyone wears thongs ( your flip flop shoes, ) even out, Except to really fancy restaurants, normally they ask us to wear sandles and at least a t shirt, no singlets..

but normaly a big majority of us dont wear shoes, I work without shoes and only put them on if I am going somewhere.

i hate anything that shuts my feet in its yuck.

To go to america i actually had to buy enclosed shoes as i didnt own any. I left most there as they are useless here.

Bare foor, thongs or sandles if we are trying to act fancy is as good as we get .

Definitely!! I wear flip flops. I'd never wear crocs though.

Oh bummer, crocs are almost our national shoe, they are so comfy, everyone has them, they are better than thongs and it doesnt matter in the wet season if you walk through puddles as it doesnt wreck them and they dont slip off, and they come in all colours pink purple, they are sold in every shoe shop, even the servo's have them, anyone who comes to visit darwin has to have a set.

And who cares what they look like, we really have no fashion sense up here anyway, gosh we are the daggiest people in the world

I wear sandals in the summer here, they are more comfortable and easy to deal with. Plus I get a cool double stripe tan on my feet...lol
