Just finished watching and highly recommend:

Hobo with a Shotgun

IMDb:
A vigilante homeless man pulls into a new city and finds himself trapped in urban chaos, a city where crime rules and where the city's crime boss reigns. Seeing an urban landscape filled with armed robbers, corrupt cops, abused prostitutes and even a pedophile Santa, the Hobo goes about bringing justice to the city the best way he knows how - with a 20-gauge shotgun. Mayhem ensues when he tries to make things better for the future generation. Street justice will indeed prevail.

He's a guardian angel walking the streets, a vicious protector of the weak and innocent. He is the hobo with a shotgun. He is Rutger Hauer. Hobo with a Shotgun is the story of... well, the title pretty much says it all. Bad guys led by a enjoyably psychotic gang lord named Drake dominate the unnamed city that is the setting of the movie. Drake and his two equally messed up offspring, Slick and Ivan, terrorize the people of this tortured city uncontested until the arrival of Hauer's Hobo, intent on using his saved nickels and dimes to buy a rusty old lawnmower that will surely start him on a honest, rewarding career. Sadly for Mr. Hobo, destiny has other plans, and our hero uses his mower money to purchase a old pump action shotgun with the intent of cleaning up the city. Along the way he is aided by a prostitute named Abby (Molly Dunsworth) who has an affinity for destruction.

This films greatest strength is its oddball tone and freakishly beautiful bursts of violence that occur periodically through the movie. The chunks of the movie that involve crazy old Rutger Hauer blasting through waves of baddies in brutal fashion and the bizarre acts of violence perpetrated by the films antagonists are easily the highlights, and they never fail to delight with their brilliant, twisted gore effects. Director Jason Eisener is a master of cinematic displays of blood and guts, and god bless him for it because it takes the film to a whole other level. I would love to provide an example for your reading pleasure, but tragically spoiling any part of this movie is a crime too heinous to contemplate committing. Just know you will leave the room feeling like a changed person after the brutal displays of carnage presented.

So what did you think of The Majorettes?

It super cheesy, but it had some fun moments so I'm actually 50-50 about this movie. haha. The killing scenes were good though, have to give them that. :)

I feel the same way. I enjoyed John Russo's earlier film Midnight much more.

Redeemer: Son Of Satan 1976 aka Class Reunion Massacre

Group of people gather for their high school reunion at the now abandoned high school only to find out they are the only ones in attendance. They are soon offed one by one my an unknown killer who wears various disguises. The killer we learn is a priest possessed by the son of Satan.

Cheesy, some hammy acting. But I enjoy this proto-slasher. I love how the killer wears different outfits- the best being his Grim Reaper costume.

Heeeey, that's interesting. A killer who actually changes his costume.

I definitely want to see it. It's based on the fake trailer that was entered in a contest for Tarantino/Rodriguez's Grindhouse.

i watched an 80's movie the other day, called the unknown galaxy, or something like that... it had jonie from happy days in it, freddy kruger, eddie albert, and a few others that i recognized... Cheesiest movie i ever saw... even had some hooters in it! about a giant worm that ate the astronauts, but i guess it didn't like womens cloths, because it stripped the ladies before eating them...ate the men with their clothes on, which is a good thing to me...

galaxy of terror...

Ah, haven't seen it yet, I think. The first IMDb review I read said a worm had his way with Taaffe O'Connell. That's probably why he took the clothes off from the women. It's a male worm. laugh

I love Galaxy of Terror, where else do you have a cast of Robert Englund, Sid Haig, Zalman King, Grace Zabriskie, and Ray Walston?

It's definitely my favorite of the Alien rip-offs that came out in the 80's.
