Topic: Nobody bothered to check the oil. | |

A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage in the USA.
~~~ Well, there's a very simple answer. ~~~ Nobody bothered to check the oil. ~~~ We just didn't know we were getting low. ~~~ The reason for that is purely geographical. Our OIL is located in: ~~~ ALASKA ~~~ California ~~~ Coastal Florida ~~~ Coastal Louisiana ~~~ North Dakota ~~~ Wyoming ~~~ Colorado ~~~ Kansas ~~~ Oklahoma ~~~ Pennsylvania ~~~ Texas ~~~ Our dipsticks are located in DC ................... -------------------- |
No argument, but it should be pointed out that only about a third of the oil America uses is produced in America. One of the reasons I understand is the American crude has an unacceptably high sulfur content.
There's claims to proof, Alaska has enough oil to last us 100 years.
I live in West Texas. There was an oil and nat. gas boom 3 years ago. |
There's claims to proof, Alaska has enough oil to last us 100 years. I'm afraid that this is going to require some documentation. It's contrary to every thing I have read.
USGS... Plenty of information.
Did you know that if we tapped just the oil in the Continental United States it require only $18 a barrel to process it. (it is estimated to be 1/3rd of the total Global supply. The chart did not even include Alaska. Nor did it include the billions of barrels that would require $30 a barrel to process (like shale or low yeild fields). I am seriously begining to wonder how many Democrats own or are invested in overseas oil. Oh yeah... Before someone goes to the 'public' USGS site and then comes back here to blast me... The more accurate information requires one to read the 'reports' that are sent out to other government agencies... and congress. |
do some more checking... Not just Alaska. California capped thousands of producing wells when Reagon was Govorner. (I was living there at the time... We never quite understood why they would do such a stupid thing). Colorado also capped thousands of wells... Resulting in a near colapse of the local economy. (I was living there when this happend also). |
