I do see both sides. The problem is, there is NO genetic trait that forces a person to be fat. There are genetic traits that will make people lose all their teeth by adulthood.
Metabolic syndrome, become more active, or take a medication that allows you to increase your metabolic rate. Big boned, easier to get in shape because you have more lean body mass to move, when you choose to move it. Diabetes, you can eat the right foods and workout to keep it in check, also got drugs for that. The list goes on and on, but for every one you find, you can overcome it with a little willpower and effort. When it comes to attraction based on physical appearance, I prefer to be picky about something a person can take care of. Floss the teeth of a person with no enamel(reference caused by genetics) and eventually they will fall out, that's out of that person's control. As much as I would love to continue this convo, it's become circular. Have fun finding your flawless man/woman... |

How is it not? You sit on your butt all day, all your life, you're gonna be sitting in the doctor's office at some point. Any genetic fault, when it comes to fitness, can be overcome. Did you know that you can actually be a couch potato and be skinny? Carlos Mencia said it best, "The reason you're fat is because you got more going in your mouth than is coming out the other end." So, when somebody is sitting on the couch for 4 hours a night, watching TV and eating snacks, then turn around and complain that they don't have time to workout, I laugh at them. I work out and hour a day, 6 days a week. I do it in my living room, using DVDs and some resistance bands. I don't go out and go to the gym, I don't do any special diets. But I pass my PT test with a 91.7%. All while working a 40 hour week, sometimes 56 hours a week. I sure as hell don't want to spend my limited free time burning 400-600 calories a night, but I do it anyways. You find me one genetic trait, when it comes to fitness, that forces a person to be overweight and unhealthy and I'll eat my words. But every genetic trait, in terms of fitness, in this world can be overcome in one way or another, a person just has to choose to make the effort. After that one is figured out, go tell my ex's 7 year old daughter she's gonna be unwanted because she has a genetic trait that she cannot overcome. she wont be unwanted, she will have prosthetic teeth in their place, which is much better than a mouth full of ROTTEN teeth,,, people need strong healthy teeth to EAT and live, so IM SURE there are other alternatives for those with genetic issues so that they can still have a mouth that is healthy enough to chew and eat their food,,, Actually, the dentist even said there is no alternative. Implants are the only choice she has. Actually one of my coworkers has the same affliction, and I've never seen so much silver in a person's mouth as him. |

WOULD U DATE A MAN WITH BAD TEETH. IF ALL YOU HAD TO GO WAS A PIC AND YOU FOUND THEM ATTRACTIVE AND THEN FOUND OUT THEY HAD BAD TEETH? This is like a Seinfeld episode, where the cast finds some unique new thing to complain about, the result being no one is acceptable to them. Outsides, can be cosmetically altered, not so much insides. I would rather see scars on the outside than find a psycho within. Hearts and souls are beautiful, blinding you to flaws and faults. It is the only place I look. Now. Let's kill everyone who uses caps. That is the way prejudice works. |

dating is about compromise as much as it is anything else
I agree, whats inside is what counts MOST, but there are also tangible changes that each can make(if it doesnt take from who they are) |

Hey ,
if a guy is missing every other tooth , you just lean his head back and use it for an ash tray. His leg would make a nice cat pole. |

another thought, if you really found yourself in LOVE with someone, prior to developing physical chemistry,,,,you might find alternative physical relations if whatever is physically turning you off cant be 'fixed'
if someone were paralyzed from the waist down, IM sure they would have other options in their dating life I guess someone who had a paralyzed mouth (incapable of eating), could likewise just have alternative physical interactions,,,, |

I started runnig track at age 9, and played almost every sport imaginable in school. I was co capt of my college hockey team, and played on a post college club league. I ran long distance road races. Got my fastest time in a 5K at age 48 at the Air Force Marathon in Dayton Ohio, I roller blade, and have been a practitioner of Tai Chi, Hapkido (briefly) and tae kwon do. I have also been a long distance swimmer, and I recently begam Mountain biking. I am a yoga and pilates practioner, amd more... At age 49 I won my Gold Medal in the National Challenge- President Fitness Level for athletes - a charity where the points I earned for my minutes and intensity of workouts translated into dollars for St Jude's Children's Hospital thru work I did it all with asthma and scoliosis |

Teeth are an important preference for women. Women are the gender most likely to want to kiss. A big preference for me as well.
It's not personal, really, but not too many people would be fond of kissing their significant other and tasting a mouthful of rotting, smelling teeth. I know that is an extreme, but I'm a guy. I don't mind if a women's teeth are in bad shape or even if she has full or partial fake teeth, as long as kissing her is'nt decay city. |

As far as weight is concerned, I could stand to lose about 40 to 50 pounds and I would'nt be put off if a person I was seeing suggested losing it.
I would'nt say that I'm attracted to larger women just because my last girlfriend was somewhat overweight. I simply like women in general, but other qualities or details are more important to me. I can't say that I've noticed that fitness or the lack thereof has any bearing on whether people will have glaring personal/emotional issues or not. |

WOULD U DATE A MAN WITH BAD TEETH. IF ALL YOU HAD TO GO WAS A PIC AND YOU FOUND THEM ATTRACTIVE AND THEN FOUND OUT THEY HAD BAD TEETH? If I was really that concerned then I'd get more info about the situation. Like it has already been mentioned, there could be any number of reasons for the teeth to be the way that they are. That type of question is almost like asking about disabilities, when about 80% of the population might have one. Just my thoughts. :) |

I wouldnt date a man with perfect teeth

Yeah, its a big turnoff. All sorts of ickiness.
I don't have perfect teeth, never had braces, and busted out my two adult fronts when I was a kid, but they are bonded and there. Eventually, I'd be game for a whole re-do and getting them crowned, but they've held up and I take care of them. I need it anyways do to getting slammed in the face by a goat, and periodic flareups and abcessing, but I have all my teeth and take care of them. A lot of folks have messed up teeth because of too much sugar and poor caretaking skills. That's their problem. I don't want to be staring at their mouths in creeped out fascination while dating. |

Looks is one thing & smell is another. I could date a guy with a few missing teeth. But, if he smelled like crap because of it I couldn't be intimate with him. As far as weight I totally agree that there is no reason to be overweight. As long as I'm working & staying on the go I can lose weight asap. But, if I sit around even if I don't eat a lot I'll start to put the weight on. Recently I've quit my job to go on the road with my BF & now after sitting in motel rooms for nearly 4 months & not really getting any excercise I've gained 10 lbs. I was 115 in January & now weigh 125. Being a small frame at 5'2 that's way too much weight for my likes!! At that rate I could gain 40 lbs in a year! Not going to happen if I can help it as I've already started changing my habits to lose weight & build muscle. I've always been known to bounce like a yo-yo. Work=thin & lazy=fat!! I've heard all the excuses...my meds, babyfat, ect. Then do something to change the effects of the meds, excess babyfat, ect. My kids are 20 & 27 & I'm usually thin too late to blame the kids now!! JMHO

Hygiene is very important to me so I would have to say no. I once dated a man that had false teeth and it just wasn't attractive to me.
I do not have perfect teeth, but I take care of the ones that I have. |
