how does limp bizkit feature int he list? every scale needs weights to recognize the good, the bad and the ugly. nothing (much) against limp bizkit, but.... children of bodom, cradle of filth and limp bizkit...... one of these is not like the others. |

I actually like Limp Bizkit and also have admiration for the introduction of Staind with Aaron Lewis have possibly the best singing voice in human history with the possible exception of Frank Sinatra
Limp Biskit can be called metal or whiteboy rap - fact is that they really are too good to be confined to a category & IMO are much better than thrash which gets monotonous Wes Borland - defintely one of the best lead guitarists of decade 2000 Fred Durst Sam (?) Rivers DJ Lethal John Otto - had to look him up but u will not find better instrumental percussion ANYWHERE after Bizkit drums anywhere else are boring |

Kirk Hammet learned from Joe Satriani of course hes good. but its not really something Id compare cause James isn't a slouch either. For a rhythm guitarist he did a lot of the writing for the band. Also playing a set of only metallica songs can be physically tiring. I give him props for that jackhammer right hand technique. Besides I never view art or artist in a way that makes a competition out of their work. Its not like a marathon where you can easily pick a winner. When it comes to art its always a matter of personal taste. yes and in a band the individuals have roles to fulfill everybody can't be the lead guitar |

how does limp bizkit feature int he list? it is a comment that dates back a few months to another conversation, but I like them anyway and think that they are basically whiteboy rap but alot of their stuff has a metal edge I'd say the same thing about some of public ememies old stuff |

I love the metal sounds of Faith No More (especially the Patton years, and The Real Thing - great album!!!), and parts of Dream Theater. And I realize many hardcore metalheads may not even agree this is true metal (they aren't "metal" bands), but I say it's a form of metal, and one that I get lost in!
Some great 80s metal too! Even some pop/metal and hair band stuff is awfully inspiring! When it's good - it's great!!! But it has to have a little melodic meat on it for me - fuzz box noise and blown Marshall stacks is not enough anymore! FantasyArtMan (EDIT: posted oddly!) |
