Thanks, I have a friend in michigan who drives truck. He said he can get me in where he works. We were supposed to go into trucking together, but that plan didn't quite work out. Maybe this talk I'm hearing is a good sign. Who knows.

So, there's talk at work that they're thinking about having everyone get paid straight min. wage + piecework. We'll see, if they do that, I'll be looking for a new job. Hopefully it's just talk though. You know how this stuff goes. What kinda piecework you into totage?? |

Yeah, I'm not just going to walk out or anything. I realized a lot from my last experience. Learned some things also. I'm very grateful for this new job, and very grateful that the company is was willing to give me a chance with no experience and a record of kinda f***ing my last employer. But, if they're going to pay min. wage, I won't have any other choice but to find employment elsewhere. After August I should be able to get a CDL. The company I work for has their own trucking fleet and they said they would be more than happy to help me get my CDL and drive truck for them if I wanted to. I'm going to check into that. I'm also going to see if they have anything to help with going back to school. I'm thinking of either getting my CDL or business degree. I may go for both. Not sure yet. Thinking about it... Why not go for both? Just find yourself a trucking company that is willing to train you. They are out there. Only thing is that they make you sign a contract that you will work with them for a year or more. You need to get at least 3-4 years exper. before you can start to venture out on your own. |
