thanks for the birthday wishes :P and thanks for confirming iam just as i fort going thru a adolescent phase of growing up ha how fail

OH!...nonononono...I was not intending to be condescending, in regards to your age...I know 70 year olds who experience what you are..

it's that sense of disconnection, isolation that feels like alone-ness, it can happen to anyone.

Me?

I don't feel it...and have so rarely in my lifetime, but then I have spent 90% of my life electively alone.

Do you ever feel alone even though your surounded by freinds and famly.. you ever just feel somethings missing and you cant quite work out what. mayb the words not alone mayb the word to use is lonely but i cant shake this feeling .. i .. well i just wonderd really anyone else felt like this ? Its weird sometimes it goes away when you can ocupie yourself with something but it allways comes back. At 1st i fort i was just feeling low but i dont allways feel sad when this feeling creeps its way into my head.. iam baberling on anyone have any thoughts on my meesed up babberlings ?

I have always felt alone, also misunderstood. I will say that I am a part of the world but for me I have always felt as though it was a movie picture that keeps moving and I am merely a spectator.

I agree somewhat I feel alone but for me it's all the time, I have no friends well none close by anymore and everybody I did know has moved on with their lives and I feel left behind. frown

I've actually BEEN alone for the last 2 years -- literally, because I live in a place where I don't know anybody and have no real way to meet anyone.

I've gotten used to it, and, most of the time, I think it actually works better for me. If I feel like writing for 6 hours straight, I can do that, because no one is going to bother me or interrupt me.

There are times when I think it would be nice to have someone in my life. But every time that happens, I end up wishing I could be alone again.

I think it's better this way.

Ya Know, a lot of people reading this thread would think that we're all a bunch of pathetic losers.

well thank you for that,,I appreciate you saying so, half the time I think I am invisible the other half completely avoided...I just spent a hour or so playing a guitar that also gets all techie,,synth blah yada blah,,and I got frustrated and pulled out another one that does the same..though it was working fine and I continued to play, it was right as I put it in the case that I realized the stupid cord,,(or human) wasn't plugged in.(to the other one)..lol...I think I can be like that sometimes,,unplugged and forget that the task is really quite simple.
but thanks again

Yes, I do feel alone alot more than I would like. Unfortunately that is just part of life.

I know exactly what you are going through. Going through life just feeling like you're existing without any purpose. Being at parties, picnics & 12 step programs didn't help with the lonliness. Because I always held back making friends & don't trust but a few people. Changing jobs, friends, etc didn't help. I met a man & have gone on the road with him traveling so far to 2 different states for weeks at a time. I'm feeling a sense of belonging & realize for the first time I am grouped with people I understand & who understands & accepts me for who I am. I really have no idea if because this change of lifestyle is so new to me that I find it interesting or if it'll pass & the lonliness will return. Traveling, not worrying about tomorrow. Much like the gypsies I guess!! Anyway's so far it's working for me! I hope this is what I'm meant to do because I love it. Right now I'm sitting in some backwoods country town & still enjoying the simplicity of life!!

I'm aware when no one is with me, which is most of the time. I am never alone, none of us are.

Happy birthday on Monday!

Part of what you are going through may well be age related, 20 is still so very young but your not a teenager anymore...it is a growing time and perhaps a time for some change, certainly a time for reflection on your life so far. Being young and having so much to figure out can be very difficult and may cause you to feel isolated. I for one would not go back to being 20.

You have so much wonder ahead of you. Reflect, think, be open to growth and change and try to see the adventure that life is.
