MCCAIN: Yes. And the other Arab country, Jordan, is — the president has just had to replace the whole government. He wouldn’t be — excuse me, the king, King Abdullah, has had to replace the whole government. This virus is spreading throughout the Middle East. The president of Yemen, as you know, just made the announcement that he wasn’t running again.
This, I would argue, is probably the most dangerous period of history in — of our entire involvement in the Middle East, at least in modern times. Israel is in danger of being surrounded by countries that are against the very existence of Israel, are governed by radical organizations. Watch it:http://www.opinion-maker.org/2011/02/neocons-tepid-reaction-to-the-egyptian-democratic-revolution/ One would think the freedom loveing neocons would be the biggest chearleaders of the pro democracy revolution in Egypt. Realy a dictator is being over thrown these are good times Mr MCcain!!! I am shocked he would call a pro democracy revolution a spreading virus. |

There is also complete chaos where people are dying on a daily basis and causing unrepairable damage. Not to mention the assanations that are happening, the Vice President also almost got killed since he is favored to become the next President. |

I don't see any democracy where there's a chance of the Muslim Brotherhood being in power.

I've been waiting to see how the righty opinion makers are going to use the Egypt situation for political advantage. They don't seem to have much of an opinion. (Beck doesn't count) url=http://www.examiner.com/political-buzz-in-national/rush-limbaugh-takes-joy-detention-of-american-journalists-egypt-audio Limbaugh finally came out with this. He liked it when the Mubarak regime targeted foreign journalist for arrest and detention. I think they are trying to find a politically correct way to back Mubarak.

I don't see any democracy where there's a chance of the Muslim Brotherhood being in power. It's just like if the majority wanted AQ or the Taliban....... Point of fact... Egypt is not your country... Not your business who the people in it select for governance. If the bill of rights and the constitution mean anything then they also have the rights that we hold 'self-evident'... Even if it is not 'convient' for us. |

Maybe the women here would show men some respect if they knew their place and some sense slapped into 'em once in a while. http://www.muslimsdebate.com/sharia/ Next stop, Attorneys for a Marine Corps veteran of the Iraq War say they have filed a petition to the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals after a federal district judge ruled it is OK for the U.S. government to fund commercial enterprises that promote the indoctrination of Islamic law, or Shariah, in the United States. http://jeffersonsrebels.blogspot.com/2011/01/judge-oks-flag-of-islam-on-american.html |

why do people assume that the mob is the majority? I mean look at the protest's against Obama or Bush in the past! When we are giving 2 billion plus in aid and other military aid why don't we have a say? Obama is making his second great blunder! We do not need another theocracy in the middle east and calling for change that's exactly what he may get! For one moment set aside the rhetoric and look at the reality! Egypt may be the next Iran or worse and that's bad for America! I guess idealolgy is more precious than life itself???????????

I don't see any democracy where there's a chance of the Muslim Brotherhood being in power. It's just like if the majority wanted AQ or the Taliban....... First off America is not a democracy it is a Republic! Exacxtly for the reason you see in Egypt! Second it is our fault? Really? Our policies have done no such thing! Japan is a clear example that we want nothing more but peace and prosperity for all nations but reality dictates we have to get our hands dirty sometimes! Democracy is not an American idea nor the government system we use and why people keep saying this is beyond me! We have a bill of rights which Egyptians won't receive! Wake up and know your history! |

America is not a democracy it is a Republic! A difference without a distinction. The righties appear to insist on this because "democracy" sounds like Democrat and "republic" sounds more like Republican. This would probably not be a very powerful argument for Conservative politics.Second it is our fault? Is what our fault? I'm having trouble find the precedent for your remarks in the quotes you cited.

] A difference without a distinction. The righties appear to insist on this because "democracy" sounds like Democrat and "republic" sounds more like Republican. So, what is it? A Democracy or Republic Union? |
