What kinds of places do you like going on first dates?

Depending on weather, a simple walk in the park or through the mall would be nice. Basically, anything casual that would give us a chance to talk, nothing too fancy, but nothing too cheap either, just an opportunity to enjoy getting to know each other comfortably.

I do like the idea of walking around somewhere and getting a chance to talk, but a mall? I'd be a little put off if a date wanted me to meet up at a mall. Surely there are better places to walk. Unless it was to meet at a specific place in a mall, such as a coffee shop. I just don't see myself walking through a mall on a date, though. But, if it works for you, great.

Weather permitting...parks are always nice...but my fave for a first is miniature golf! Out in the open air, a fun game, and usually loads of laughs

Yeah, miniture golf is a lot of fun. I used to know the owner of a putt-putt course, used to get free games all the time. It's a shame I never got good at it though. laugh

I went last summer, and it really is a "one of a kind" experience. No vehicles allowed, other than by foot, horse carraige, or bicycle. Also, it was where the movie "Somewhere in Time", with Christopher Reeve was filmed.

we don't want to be sliding oregon anywhere....scared

Actually the beach is a great place for a first date, it's relaxing, rejuvinating and energizing. It's a great place to loosen up and get to know someone.
If the weather is to narly there are tons of places that we can go sit, chat, eat, have a drink and still be near the water.
It's a great atmosphere and yes, it can be very romantic and seductive.

I loved the beaches around San Diego in '77. I could only imagine the majesty and serenity of those in Oregon.
