Everything is partisan nowdays, everything!!
Every issue has two sides to it. We need to draw lines and choose our sides.
The days of two sides compromising to reach a goal are over. And they should be anyways!!
No more compromise or giving in to the requests or demands of the opposing views!!
I think the shooter said something like this on his myspace

I don't think the shooter could have constructed a paragraph as coherent as this.

YAY!

I just heard that.

I still haven't heard anything about the shooter though.

A bystander grabbed the freak. I hope they give this guy the lethal injection.

Is there not anyone else who sees the same kind of desperate, zealot rhetoric in this post as exist in the minds of crazies like the shooter in AZ?
The falsehoods and misinformation of people and groups like the Republican Party, The Tea Party, and Sarah Palin have created millions in this country with the same dangerous philosophy.

No Partisanship,
No compromising,
draw a line,
choose sides,
and Reload.

Don't these people understand that we are a country whose gov is set up to be ruled by majority?
Don't they understand their views exist in the minority?
Don't they understand how this talk creates fanatics like that of the AZ shooter?
Fanatics who think violence will somehow put them in the majority or create an environment where fear is the rule.

Is this kind of thinking even American?

This is appalling. It disgusts me!

"Sarah Palin's political action committee posted a map of the US, showing the locations of the 20 Democratic members of Congress, including Giffords, it was targeting for defeat. Each location was marked by an image of a gun crosshairs."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/20110108/ts_yblog_thelookout/giffords-had-been-target-of-violent-threats

But this was long before this shooting happened. Is Sarah Palin supposed to be some kind of fortune teller who can foresee the future, and that some dude is gonna go shooting at people just because the campaign used target symbols??

Step away from the Kool-Aid:smile:

She just took that down!

Don't worry about me and Kool-Aid. I do a lot of research.

She took it down out of respect, the least you can do is acknowledge that.

She took it down out of pressure, and threats of holding her legally responsible for just this kind of reaction.

We reap the hatred we sow.noway

It is terribly sad to see innocents gunned down for the hatred that people continue to sow in this country.brokenheart

And then pass more laws to give more of the unhinged guns.frustrated

By the way where were all the "good" gun carryers that are supposed to save the innocent in this situation???slaphead slaphead slaphead

There was a man present who was carrying, Joe something, who saw the guy begin shooting but by the time the guy was reloading he was on the ground hiding behind a column.

To his credit, he did hold the shooter down after two others, including a woman, tackled and unarmed the shooter.

It takes more than a license to carry to bring a human to willingly kill another human.

The military has done extensive tests on this.
They found that after battles, many soldiers had continuously loaded their weapons without firing them. In the Civil War it was nothing to find a soldiers musket filled with ball and powder that was never fired.
They then began using psychological methods to correct the problem. There in brain washed was the word.

Did it work?
During Vietnam many weapons overheated due to a frenzy of discharges.
Now all the military is concerned with is having enough ammunition on hand.

It is a whole nuther thread to discuss what the military does to our young peoplenoway

Arizona with all the hateful activity they have participated in have also recently passed laws to allow more folks to have guns so some "good" gun holder should have been able to save the day by the logic of the gun revelers.

Of course unless they are wrongslaphead which more likely:thumbsup:

Really not wanting to make this into a gun debate since we all know that the "good" gun guys are never available at the critical times anyway.

She cannot be held responsible for this. this is just like the witch hunt against Judas Priest which ended in epic failure for those suing them.

What hateful activity? Oh, you mean us enforcing laws here! That's not gonna change and for those who don't like, don't come here.

Here is what the Pima County Sheriff said today, January 9, at the press conference:

“I think that when the rhetoric about hatred, about mistrust of government, about paranoia of how government operates, and to try to inflame the public on a daily basis 24 hours a day, 7 days a week has an impact especially on people who are unbalanced personalities to begin with.”

I think there are lot of people out there thinking the same thing as this Arizona Sheriff....this country really needs to tone down all the hate talk.

The problem isn't rhetoric but rather the political climate the two parties have been nurturing over the decades. They have done an outstanding job of dividing the country and forcing people into political loyalty. Until people who claim to be democrat/liberal or republican/conservative cast this aside and stand on their own two feet while ignoring talk radio and cable news the country will not tone down. He is correct that things are out of control, just look at this place here but until something miraculous happens people will continue to pledge allegiance to one side or the other instead of getting down to earth and coming to a consensus of what America is. There must be compromise to achieve this and compromise is a word most people do not understand. Everybody has an opinion and are stuck on that opinion, its something we are all guilty of.

Dr. Peter Rhee head of UMC trauma just said the Giffords is alive and recovering in critical condition. He also said he is very optimistic about her recovery.

That is good news...hope she makes it..even though have no idea who she is...

She's a Congresswoman I don't really care for(she came very close to losing her seat this last election. Her husband is the NASA pilot whos going to pilot the last space mission this year(. Eventhough I don't like her or her politics I don't wish this on her or anyone. This is someones mother, daughter, sister, friend etc.

It also didn't take long for people to come on here and play the blame game when it is uncalled for. It is a disgusting and dispicable act that has nothing to do with tea parties. End of discussion.

If you dig deeper... With out the preconcived notion of simply painting one side as 'bad'...

You will find that some democrats also 'painted' targets on opponents and their districts...

Politicians are idiots.

Speaking as a non-party person...

Don't you realize that BOTH sides did these very same things you 'paint' upon one you appear to consider an opponent.

Both sides used lies...
Both sids used vehement language to describe one another and their opponents goals.

Majority of americans are not on the LEFT or the RIGHT.

The polls (all of them) show clearly that the MAJORITY of America resides squarly in the center.

Want to talk falsehoods?

Like claiming that HC will save money... After the numbers are fudged. (Fudge = spin = LIE)

Giffords is a big supporter of the space program, big supporter of the military, big supporter of scientific research, very pro business, chief proponent of a congressional pay cut. She did vote for the HC bill but only because her entire party told her do it or else which I cannot fault her for. She is also a big proponent of securing the border and was, don't know about now, a big supporter of the 2nd amendment. She is ok with me and will vote for her again if she is able to fully recover and keep her seat.
