There’s a special lady you want to impress on a second or third date with a romantic home cooked meal. But you’re a single man who has never only know how to make sandwiches. Well here is a very nice, tasty and romantic 3 course romantic dinner that should make her go crazy for you.
Good news is you can do this in less than an hour... and we’ll try to keep the garlic and onion VERY minimal.
Here's my suggestion

FOR THE APPETIZER/ Keep it simple
Make a Caesar salad (assuming that you know how to make that)... throw in a few grilled shrimps in there and some lime juice it will take your salad to another level.

THIS WILL TAKE ABOUT 10 MINUTES
----------------

FOR THE ENTRÉE/ again we keep it simple (And it's French)

You can make a filet of sole.
The great thing about that fish, the taste is very sweet and flesh is so tender that it feels like it melts in your mouth. You will watch her literally close her eyes as she eats it. And no fishy smell.Go to your local poissonnerie (place where you buy fish) and ask for 2 filets of sole. About 8 ounces each. You will watch her literally close her eyes as she eats it.

2 - sole fillets
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
1 green onion, sliced (include some green tops)
1/2 medium lemon, thinly sliced
1/3 cup dry white wine Water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 pound mushrooms, sliced
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1 large egg yolk
2 tablespoons whipping cream
2 parsley sprigs to garnish
2 lemon wedges to garnish

Sprinkle sole with salt and pepper. Fold fillets crosswise and place in a greased 8-inch-square baking pan. Top with onion and lemon slices; pour wine over all. Cover and bake in a 400 F. oven for 15 to 20 minutes.

Remove from oven; discard lemon slices. remove the liquid from the pan, but don't throw it out, put it in a cup. If it's not at least half a cup, add some water (to the juice) to make 1/2 cup.

In the meantime, leave your sole in a warm place. Like in the oven after it has cooled down.

Melt butter in a small pan over medium-high heat; add mushrooms and cook until lightly browned. Stir in flour until bubbly. Gradually add cooking liquid from fish and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. In a bowl, combine egg yolk with cream and beat; stir in a little of the hot liquid from mushrooms. Add egg mixture to mushroom sauce in pan and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Lift sole onto a warm serving dish. Blend a little of the liquid that collected in fish pan into mushroom sauce to thin it slightly, if needed. Spoon sauce over fish. Serve immediately, garnished with parsley and lemon wedges.

THIS WILL TAKE ABOUT 30 TO 35 MINUTES
--------------------

NOW MY FAVORITE PART... DESSERTTTTTTTTTT/ and oh so simple

Buy some fresh strawberries, 2 bars of dark chocolate (75% or more) and also 1 bar of white chocolate.

1st you need to make sure that you Wash the strawberries and please fellas, do not remove the stem. You will to hold on it when you dip it in the chocolate sauce.

Then I need you to melt the dark chocolate... I think it's best to bring a pot of water to a boil, and using an aluminum mixing bowl, put the bowl over the pot. Make sure that the bowl is large enough so no water gets in your chocolate. Chop the chocolate and put it in the bowl. Use a whisk as the chocolate is melting. Don’t forget to use a spatula if the melted chocolate is getting all around the sides of the bowl.

When the chocolate is completely melted, dip the strawberry in by holding the stem. Rest it on parchment paper and put it in the fridge.

A few minutes before your date arrives, melt the white chocolate too, and get a fork.
While the the strawberry is still on the parchemin paper, take the fork, dip it in the white chocolate, and drizzle it over the strawberries. That will make little lines of white chocolate over the straberries. Repeat as many times as needed but don’t overdo it. It's really beautiful.

Or if you want, you can dip the strawberry in the white chocolate, but only the bottom part of the strawberry, like that it will be a layer of dark and white chocolate.
Store in the fridge until it's time for desert.

THIS ONLY TAKES ABOUT 10 TO 15 MINUTES (Not including the time it spends in the refrigerator)
-----------------------------------

IN TOTAL, IT SHOULD TAKE 50 TO 60 MINUTES for you to prepare such a great meal that will make you a keeper in her eyes. :)

You can have the strawberries with either champagne or white wine.
My favorite white wine on a budget is called Aufkellereien. It's German, but It's really nice and sweet. And it will definitely go with both your filet of sole and your chocolate dipped strawberry too.

But hey, if you guys mess it up a little, that's ok. She will be grateful and impressed that you even cooked. lol

If you have any questions regarding any of this... ask away. I'll do my best to answer.

Of course, it helps if you check to see what kind of foods the person likes.

Fish isn't my big thing, and I'd hate to offend the guy by not eating it.

Yes, of course. This is just one of MANY man-friendly recipes, that are sooo easy but will make him look like quite the chef. lol

happy He's going to have to cook, since I really don't care to. LOL!

In all fairness, most men make excellent chefs, if they take the time.

well this post is not for chefs... It's for the normal single guy out there who have no idea how to use a measuring spoon. (most men)

But it's true... most chefs are men. But unless a man is a chef, most of the time, his kitchen skills will be next to ZERO lol

weather is usually nice here in san antonio, so i like to fire up the grill. i'll toss on some fajitas, onion, bell pepper, and corn on the cob. quacamole with some tortilla chips while the meat is on the grill, and an ice chest full of coors light or modelo. (if it's really special i'll get a few bottles of marti and rossi asti spumante.) maybe fish tacos would be a nice change of pace.

There's a correction I have to make you guys. Remeber in the ingredients I said you needed 1/3of a cup of dry white wine, but I didn't tell you what to do with it.

Well you're going to pour the white wine on the fish. It might be best to do it before you put the salt and pepper so it doesn't wash it away.

Actually, most of that (with better beer, of course) sounds better than the fish you mentioned.

the the aufkelleien I suggested... that one is for the meal. But for the entrée in the list of ingredients, I mentioned dry white wine. After the fish has cooked in it, the juice left will serve to make some kind of sauce that you will use in the mushroom sauce.
or you can even buy some white wine "vinegar" at your local market... it's cheap.

laugh it does sound good. but not for a romantic date night with candle lit dinner. haha
Then again, if you know that the person you're cooking for would rather have something right off the grill, go for it. I love anything from the grill too. drool

Why? Food on the grill is delicious. Then you can sit out (I'd say throw down a blanket, but the fireants in Texas SUCK!) and chat and watch the moon and stars. Do it on a full moon and who needs candles?! Pretty cool and romantic, IMO!

Hey I love food on the grilldrool ... I just don't see anything romantic about beer. And I don't know about you, but after I eat corn... the last thing I want to do is kiss a guy.

But the whole watching the moon thing on a blanket is nice... But out here in Canada....... hmmm, can only be done a few months a year. Like right now, my idea sound good to anything in the northern states and over here laugh

Well, like you said, it's going to depend on the person. I don't like fish, so I wouldn't like the meal you provided the recipe for. So, getting to know what kind of food the person you're with likes is going to help a lot.
