The above is a quote from President Obama's speech on helathcare.[page 3of8] Yesterday I received a letter from my insurance carrier that my primary care that I have paid into since 1966 will no longer be available as of January 1 2011. When I called my carrier to confirm this info I was told that the info was accurate but that I could opt for a BASIC PLAN with significantly reduced benefits or I could opt for a different plan with my current benefits with a slight premium increase.I chose to stay with plan with my present coverage but when I did the math I learned that the slight increase in premium was 83%. I am eligible apply for va health care but choose not to since I feel that VA is better left to those who need it and as long as possible I prefer to pay my own way. My problem is I can't figure how I am better off now than I was a year ago. |
