world english bible...also most versions quote it at "evil spirit" King james version is one of the closest to the actual translations. Other translations are usually translating from king james into more modern day language. More something is translated more it looses it's meaning. It looses it's meaning because of personal preference and what the author "thinks" it is saying. |

I wish the Mods would lock this thread altogether, thus ending the supposed discussion that is parading around as argument. For one thing, no one is forcing you to read this. For another, quite a typical reaction. "Agree with me or you don't get to speak". Thanks for yet again reinforcing a negative stereotype of christianity as a whole. Oh is that what's bothering you? That my reaction is typical? Poor baby, you must be so upset! Truth is, if it was DISCUSSION it might be interesting. If it's just jerks with sarcasm, then what's the difference between this and any other thread? You must spout your mouth off so much in these threads because nobody will listen to you in person! Now THAT is funny! LMAO! |

I'd scare you more....I think the death penalty should be expanded to cover many more things than it does. Of course, I also think that if someone is executed that is later found to be innocent, the prosecutors should go on trial for murder too. Well, I certainly never claimed that atheists are any better than religious people. The only difference is that if I disagree with your ideas and philosophies then it's just my opinion versus yours. Religious people hold out their hateful ideas in the name of God. So if I object they kick and scream that I'm questioning the wisdom of God. Ain't that always the way... |

technology gives you power as well and as for god he could have been an alien from some other part of the galaxy doing a cloning experiment and we are the out come so how can you hold truth to a book that's basically a bunch of he says she says bull crap Technology gives no one power of anything. Technology only gives us a way to control some of the power God has given us freely. We have the power to learn and critical thinking. And is why we've evolved so much further then the animals of this planet. We have the power of knowledge. Except there is no scientific evidence of a world wide flood ever happening... No evidence they have found YET. We haven't learned everything there is, we are still finding new discoveries. With finding the new discoveries theories change, law's change, alot of things change with the new findings. So who's to say that one day they won't find the evidence for such? Yeah. Like the no evidence found YET of tiny unicorns living in my sock drawer. Look, we have really good geological evidence of the weather going back 100's of thousands of years. From all over the planet. A world wide flood would've left evidence everywhere. Such a mass extinction, in such relatively recent times geologically speaking, could NOT go unnoticed. It just couldn't. Our scientists just aren't that incompetent. Of course there wouldn't be geological evidence of such. The world wasn't like is now then. The flood changed the face of the earth. Genesis 1:6-8 6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. Wow. What a completely unique circumvention of logic. Bravo. Of course that makes no sense, though. Unless God, in changing the face of the Earth, also laid down 4 billion years of geology. You might as well say God destroyed the Earth entirely, with the flood, and rebuilt it from scratch. Why would God do that? Why would God HIDE the evidence of a great flood when such evidence would greatly bolster the case for believing in Him? |
