Be ready to be cold and wet for a few weeks. You are going to have your limits pushed hard.

That which does not kill you will make you stronger!

Remember not to let what others do determine what you do.

One time the majority of trainees did not listen closely to what a trainer said. The majority did the wrong thing as a result. The minority who did listen well did the opposite of the others. The minority were rewarded.

You will also be sleep deprived a lot too and put into some intensely stressful situations.

They are out to wash out candidates because they do not want their men freezing up under fire.

They demand a level of Discipline I think the Spartans would have approved of warrior to warrior.

If you pass muster though, you will be one of the best of the best!

Especially if they are UD specialists!

Never ever, never give up. And when you think you can not go on, dig deep and push. Get your brother through and your brothers will get you through. Navy Corpsman/ST2-UDT Ret.

Wellllll I'd have to somewhat disagree.

The one I was with was a loser, in the end. Had a daughter he didn't want to pay child support on so chose not to work 3 of the 4 years we were together, felt he was owed because he was a white male, with Native American blood and suffered reverse discrimination, and because he had been in the military.

There's good and bad in all areas, unfortunately.

As you already know and or were told, you are about to embark on a journey that is only layed out for the very best. You will exceed many self limits within yourself. There will come a time that you will feel that you want to stop....Believe me on this. And when that time comes upon you, that is when you are at your strongest point. You tell yourself that now is the time that i become stronger then i have ever been. You will feel a numbing feeling come over you. It will be your inner strength coming out in you to enable you to carry on...........I wish you well. Try and remember what i have told you son i have said theese words many times before. Stay safe abd do not loose your faith in god or youreslf. Master Sgt.Holloway

The Army Ranger and Navy Seals do cross train later on. There is a lot of "Cross Disciplinary" skills training between our branches of the military including the Marine Mountaineers and Army Rangers too. Navy seals are expected to do inland missions as well. I would never underestimate the capacities of any branches premium soldiers. Very few people have what it takes to survive any of them. Even the Air force has their own Rangers and they are down right scary and well trained as well.

Now for the one comment of being with a navy Seal who was a looser, yes some people get this whole idea the world owes them a living for a little bit of work and discrimination and all that crap. You get that BS anywhere you go though in ALL walks of life. At least you didn't get saddled with him! Sometimes the stuff these guys do messes up their heads. Still, I would be hesitant to call a former navy seal a looser to his face if I valued my own existence even if he was a looser.

I have met some Seals and they look like average guys, but they will kill people with one pinky and their eyes closed.

I suppose the question is, are you going to prove something to yourself, learn something about yourself or are you going to prove something to someone else? The answer could decide whether you are successful or not..

If you go into this with something to prove they will break you. You have to WANT to do it. I mean this has to be something you REALLY REALLY want. They will make you into a Brock Sampson (Body Guard from "Venture Brothers," Murderer Extraordinaire, slayer of henchmen,)

and you will be a walking death machine. Again it has to be something you want and feel in your bones.

You will be walking into the real house of pain!

May this lead you down the path that is right for you!

And if you make it? Hoo-Ra! You will be one of the best of the best!
