I was a military brat so I really dont have a hometown..I made sure that I have stayed in this area for over 30 yrs so that my daughter would have that hometown that I didnt have.

We're all so transient these days. The suburbs and sprawl seem to have no soul. THAT's saved for the city burroughs and rural communities.

It only works for the rural communities if you've never moved. Otherwise, you're just screwed if you are moving into the community. The cliqueishness is unreal. 18 years here, and I and family still don't know a whole lot of people.

My home is where I am. I've moved a fair amount growing up, and while there are certainly locations that I remember fondly, it would not be the people I was thinking about. Definitely the locations!

Joel....you know enough about me...and have seen the visuals of where I resonate the strongest....you have vicariously shared every moment of sturm and drang...every joyful moment...you've been right there..

I am HOME....internally and externally.

Huntington Beach, and yes I do spend time with my friends from 1st grade still and see all the others dropping off their kids with my kids at school. I love it and I love that all our kids are growing up together. Although I have lost a few good ones to chicago and hawaii. I miss them a lot. I would love to move closer to Hollywood though!!

I've moved just frequently enough that I don't "really" feel like I have a hometown. I suppose it's where the love is, so I am fortunate to have many. I feel "at home" in several places.

I'm interested in stories from neighborhoods where you still see your best friend from 3rd Grade, and perhaps are STILL best friends...

OR

...if perhaps your hometown wasn't all that what you wanted....you moved....and you found "home".

Funny I moved to Delaware in the third grade and yes I still see people from that grade.......I consider myself to have two hometowns.......1- would be what we call DelMarVa.....2- and the other would be with my family where I was born Fort Pierce, Florida....

I miss both places and the people when I am gone but have lost many people and the feel and look when I return to one or another changes with the loss of loved ones....
