Topic: Firefox isn't so safe really | |
---|---|
I noticed that many claim how firefox is safe. Sure it's a better/faster browser than IE with all the gadgets and speed and more secure, but the key word is "more" secure, not "secured". I just want to say don't ever think you are safe now and forget about everything, just because you use Firefox.

My Firefox just turned blue. And it says Namaroka on it. I don't even know a Namaroka.

My IE caused me all kind of problems and I think my hard disk is trying to quit on me now. I keep getting a warning and sometimes a blue screen. Event logs a disk error and my troubleshooter says if I continue to get the error I will need to replace the disk.
I have been using Firefox for a while now. I like it better. When I go into the Microsoft site though I have to use IE. |

I wonder when Firefox Namoroka 3.6 will turn into Firefox Minefield 4.0. I haven't been able to get Online with the beta Minefield, yet.

I've been on google chrome for awhile now and I like it! ..well..if you don't mind the occasional data mining google does on you and your search habits... Here is an addon for Firefox that will block google and yahoo analytics done on your web activities. http://honeybeenet.altervista.org/beefree/?id=101000 Make sure you pay attention how to install it. (Download it as "save as" and then open the folder and drag the downloaded .xpi into any open firefox window) http://honeybeenet.altervista.org/beefree/?id=105000 also add this: Adblock plus Now I don't see those redirections and analytics done |

Google chrome is win. However, it's good to have Firefox installed. If you happen to get a virus or malware that would normally only affect Internet Explorer, it will also affect Chrome because it pulls settings from Internet Explorer. If you have Firefox installed, chances are it won't be affected and you can go download what you need to remove the virus or malware.

There is a lot not to like, about Microsoft products.
IE was a disappointment, early on. Press a button, nothing happened. I've recently been Minted - Linux Mint 9. Nice, but still a learning curve. Then, the are some real issues with privacy, with google being the most ... honest about it. And, Chrome calls home, all the time, as I understand it. Not an option, to me, anymore than IE. Are you aware of Flash cookies? You can't see them. Firefox extensions: BetterPrivacy and Ghostery. RESISTOR1 Ozarks Roaming |

Opera is MORE secure than ff, but FF is faster, and better at rendering...
And, FF has an opensource variant... FF, is is more secure than IE, and if locked down properly, and used along with safe browsing habits, can be truely secure. It's always up to the individual user. Also, a safe browser does one little good with an insecure OS. Linux - ftw ;] |

all browsers allow 3r party cookies FALSE! Almost all browsers can be configured to block 3rd party cookies. |

How many ppl have actually tried Opera? I like the way it looks. Might not be a bad choice if you want a bit more security.
