Topic: Christianity and Islam | |

Christians try to take the high road now but they were no different in recent times. Death to all heathens and heretics. They massacred countless people throughout their history and now faced with the same concepts that they practiced all this time they want to call it evil. They are the same. Technical differences and Christianity has learned you can burn more bees with honey than vinegar and Islam hasn't learned this concept yet. They are a little behind the times. Again it was NOT murdering. The only reward for sin is death. They brought that upon themselves with disobeying our father. Murder is unlawfully killing someone. Being sentenced to death because of wrong doings isn't unlawful. you kinda sound like the muslims... they kill people for what they think are sins... They flat out murder the people without even knowing them or their backgrounds. Heck the people they murder sometimes even could be muslim themselves....... could be a total saint, but they don't know this for that's not their purpose behind the things they do. i think that's what dragoness was referring too... I'm not defending the christians who did this. Those Christians were just as wrong as the muslims. Two wrongs don't make a right. What is bad for the goose is bad for the gander. The crusades weren't "christian". Christianity in it's own teaches love, care, giving, and forgiveness. We are not to judge others. ================================== Matthew 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. ================================== So what would christians gain from judging others? thats what us atheists are for... we can judge them for you... |

Christianity and Islam are the same. There are a few different players in the mix but they are essentially the same. Christianity has moved ahead with the times more than Islam in allowing women more freedoms and almost stopping their abuse of others in the name of religion but that doesn't change the facts of them being very similar.
Islam is the example of what Christianity would be like had they not chose to utilize the new testament and move a bit forward with the times. |

Even at the risk of being labeled one half of a 'tag team' again,, |

Yes and one of them is the church of Latter Day Saints. They've been getting a free pass in this country since 1830, and have turned their backs on constitutional law ever since. |

... The New Testament is a false representation of Jesus that only adds insult to injury. The authors of the New Testament are the same people who had Jesus nailed to the pole! They physically had him nailed to the pole, and then later they wrote the gospels that nailed to him to the Old Testament God in an attempt to support the very teachings that Jesus himself rejected! Jesus rejected the teachings of the Old Testament, he didn't embrace them. Jesus was a VICTIM of Christianity. The sooner people start to realize this the better. Jesus had nothing to do with the Old Testament God. Jesus was teaching the love of Buddhism and Pantheism, not the Bigotry of the Old Testament God of Abraham. Not exactly. You may know what's in the bible, but you're not grabbing the meaning of it or taking it in all it's context. With your way of thinking just because a judge sentences someone to the death penalty they should be killed to because they've committed murder with your theory. Or even the people that physically carried out the execution. Remember, the only reward for sin is death. And in the old testament times, eg., before Jesus we were punished on earth for our sins. Thus if someone sinned they were killed *they were sentenced with the penalty of death for their wrong doings*. So nothing really has changed, only when we are judged. The teachings of the old testament and new testament are fairly close other then when and how we are judged for our sins. "Taking Scripture Out of Context" It is IMPOSSIBLE to use the Torah IN CONTEXT to support the Christian view of the Old Testament. The ONLY way to view the Old Testament IN CONTEXT to anything Christian, would be to say the 'stories' were stolen from Torah as a kind of PPE-FABRICATED building material on which to build a totally new religion. That would a good reason for Christians to ignore the OUT OF CONTEXT anomalies between the biblical Old Testament and the Torah which subsequently forced Christians to come up with a reason to claim the actual text is OUT OF DATE. Of course it is still referred to by Christians to substantiate particular arguments - but such reference to the Old Testament IS TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT - because the beliefs that transformed the Torah into a twisted conglomeration of OUT OF DATE material, have nothing in common with the spiritual material it was stolen from. But stealing pre-fabricated material as building blocks for a new religion seems to have been an activity the writers of the 'New Testament' were extremely adept in following through with. |

Get real people. You think Christianity is bad then show me some proof.Show me someone who was stoned in the last 2,000 years in the name of Christianity.Show me suicide bombings on a daily basis.Show me beheadings, threats to other countries, beatings, and honor killings. You can't because they don't exist. I'd think the OKC bomber, being the good Christian anti-government sort he was would be an excellent example of recent of bad Christianity. There's also the dragging death of the black man in Jasper, TX by the good 'ol white boys, the excuses for slavery, the Inquisition and the Malleus Maleficarum or Witch's Hammer that was supported by the Church to torture men and women. Hypatia - http://womenshistory.about.com/od/hypati1/a/hypatia.htm A female mathametician and philosopher who was cruelly killed by monks. "Cyril probably objected to Hypatia on a number of counts: She represented heretical teachings, including experimental science and pagan religion. She was an associate of Orestes. And she was a woman who didn't know her place. Cyril's preaching against Hypatia is said to have been what incited a mob led by fanatical Christian monks in 415 to attack Hypatia as she drove her chariot through Alexandria. They dragged her from her chariot and, according to accounts from that time, stripped her, killed her, stripped her flesh from her bones, scattered her body parts through the streets, and burned some remaining parts of her body in the library of Caesareum." There's a movie out called Agora, that the Church is having fits over because it puts them in poor light. Duh! Now, whether you personally wish to argue whether they were Christians or not, they were/are claiming it. Along with the pedophilia, denouncing of, yet hiring gay men for "escort" services, or what-not, this is what all Christians are judged on. You're history is not the prettified works you would like to brag on, and "love" is a joke. I'd settle for not being bothered. I don't want the Christian brand of "love". |
