Topic: things going the way of the dinosaur... | |

Well, we still see them here and there but we are using these less instead of laptops which we are using more of and all of them have a built in calculator. But who uses these anymore? ???WHO??? And now for something that once upon a time was a staple in American diets but now they are little more than a curiosity in the canned food aisle... Canned Sardines. Back in the 1940, and 1950s they were a American Staple and had been for years. Now a days? Sardine canning used t be big money here but no there are no more sardine canneries in America. The days of the CRT are numbered. This technology is for the most part no longer produced except in very limited models of computer monitors. LCD has been doing the bulky CRT TV aside with a slimmer profile. Once upon a time these were like buffalo. This was what replaced the tape cartridges used for data storage. But then they got smaller... SMALLER AND MORE DATA STORAGE! HORAY! Now you cannot find a computer made with a 3 1/4 drive. The CD ROM came along followed by double layer DVDs and then Blue Ray. So what else is going the way of the dinosaur??? |

Andy, since I do not have a laptop computer grafted into my body, I still use a calculator occasionally, especially when I am balancing my checkbook. |

I would love to see fax machines kick the bucket. What office doesn't have a copier/printer/scanner that can email you your document instead?
