Some 2,000 years ago a woman was convicted to stoning for screwin' around outside of wedlock.

Oh, wait, it was just the other day.

I thought Muslims only stoned folks in ancient times. Mah bad.slaphead

Suppose Iran will stop its MSM from advertising their stonings now?rofl

Iran seeks to distance itself from newspaper's insult of France's first lady

TEHRAN, Iran - Iran has sought to distance itself from harsh remarks by a hard-line newspaper, which called France's first lady a "prostitute" for condemning the stoning sentence against an Iranian woman convicted of adultery.

In comments Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast says "insulting" foreign dignitaries like Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is incorrect and not sanctioned by the government.

The Kayhan daily first called Bruni-Sarkozy a "prostitute" Saturday. It repeated the criticism Tuesday. Like the Iranian woman, it said, she too deserves to die.

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, whose sentence has been temporarily suspended, could still face execution after a final review of her case. The case has prompted an international outcry.

I guess in Iranianspeak, calling someone a 'prostitute' when they denounce your barbaric Seventh-Century (BC) 'justice' and / or 'legal system' is more effective than (a) changing the system to reflect entry into the Twenty-first Century or, (b) joining the human race. I mean, there's this whole system out there that uses stuff like words 'n logic 'n language and symbolic reasoning and critical analysis and semantics 'n stuff ... it helps that 'communication and understanding' thing move along, y' know ... but that's obviously beyond the reach of the Seventh-Century (BC) mindset ... as is the word 'liar'. They could at least show they're a bit civilized by changing 'prostitute' to 'whore' ... besides, it has fewer letters, so they'd prolly even spell it right ...

at least the government doesnt sanction it,,,,I guess their media has its nutcases too

not like I havent heard people here wishing death upon others,,,or jumping to conclusions sane folks might question(like someone being muslim because they vacation during ramadan)

looking at her history , she was a model and took nude photos,, that would be enough for some orthodox christians to call her a prostitute too...... its a nice distraction from the issue of stoning,,,

"like american 'decree' causes terrorists to become terrorists?

either they want to be a terrorist or they don't...no one causes anyone to be a terrorist...the blame game dosn't work like that...
when the nutsacs kill abortion doctors, is the doctors fault?
i think not...was it the people in the buildings fault when mcviegh and the mulims destroyed the 3 buildings? again, no... just by even acknowledging the its the governments fault, your just encouraging more terrorist acts. playing the blame game does not work with terrorists.

hey, if a governments actions can make a newspaper post bigotry,,it follows it probably can make (militant patriots.extremists, or whatever you want to call them) feel justified in taking a life for a life...

I agree the logic is faulty, but its consistent

i just see it as it is no ones fault but the terrorists...everyone is supposed to be in control of their own mind. 2 wrongs don't make a right. and killing innocent people is never right.

exactly why I dont play the blame game,, of course someone always has PRIMARY responsibility(blame) , but rarely have others not played a part by their choices,,,,

hmm, is not the potential penatly for TREASON, death? different cultures value different things, usually upon a consensus

in america, if you commit treason, you probably know the consequence if you are caught

so too is the case with muslims in whatever country they reside,, they know the consequence before they CHOOSE the action

the only person to is the person doing it...by even slightly recognizing there reason is justifying their position. That encourages 99 more nutsacs to be terrorists.
