Manhattan Judge James Gibbons quits after massive porn cache is found on work computer

BY Melissa Grace, Alison Gendar and Larry Mcshane

A cleavage-crazed criminal court judge - who fathered a son with a young Legal Aid lawyer - quit after officials found a massive porn stash on his work computer, sources said Thursday.

Disgraced Manhattan jurist James Gibbons, a whip-smart ex-prosecutor who once convicted rapists and killers, fired off a terse resignation letter last week after the nasty cache was uncovered.

"There was a lot of porn on his computer - all young women," an investigator told the Daily News. "Lots of crotch and cleavage shots."

The Manhattan district attorney's office is scouring the vile files to determine if criminal charges are warranted - and are checking whether any of the women are underage.

Gibbons, 47, already had raised eyebrows with his ethics-skirting romance with Legal Aid lawyer Jeanne Emhoff, 31, who he fathered a son with weeks ago.

Emhoff's Facebook page, which was pulled down Thursday, featured a photo of a man with a boy on his shoulder.

The porn revelation staggered the baby's grandparents.

"This is going to break her heart," Emhoff's stepdad said of his wife. "She thinks the world of Jim. ... This will destroy my wife."

Gibbons - who was not arrested - was caught when a computer-monitoring system in the courthouse red-flagged his courthouse terminal, a law enforcement source said.

He was on paternity leave when the images were discovered and the computer seized.

Who really cares besides his job?

Too bad for him, shoulda known better.

I know we don't have to remind people of all the nasty little things the Repubs get into now do we?

If he'd BEEN a 'pub, that big 'R' would have been plastered right behind his name at the top of the story. DemoComs get the psychophantic suckup State-controlled 'media' to cover for them ... but I won't attempt to point out the other obvious discrepancies ... the words would be wasted ...

i thought we were the country where consenting adults are free to whatever sexual interests they want , as long as its not illegal

is porn illegal....no? was it against policy to look at it at work,, I would guess most definitely

but really, I think we put people on too high a pedestal because of what position their careers put them in,, it was porn, not prostitution or kiddy porn,,, nothing illegal

he should be treated by the guidelines of his workplace,, but as a citizen, I really dont find it that disturbing compared to the things politicians are into across the board(in fact its pretty minor in comparison,,,imho)

There is such a thing as proper ethics and also proper etiquette. Porn has no place in the work place unless porn IS your business. He should have kept his nasty monkey business at home or anyplace else other than his work computer. He is a public servant and to have "child" porn on his computer (granted it is suspicion but then again chances are he is so frikken guilty) then he crossed ethical lines. He is a public servant and the computer was public property. Your privacy to anything other than what is between your ears ends at the door of any courthouse.

So what he had porn on his work computer? So what ethical lines shall we cross today? Anyone up for some good old fashion quality Bestiality? How about some black leather hairy baby bottom BDSM? How about we just all get naked and go crazy in a court house too?

So is it proper or ethical for a Congressman (Republican at that) looking for homosexual sexual experiences in Airport restrooms? His azz got into a lot of trouble for that and he lost his job.

Sex has no place in certain venues. How fast do you think you would get fired from any real job if you were caught watching porn on your terminal while you were supposed to be working?

How difficult is it to understand that this man is a JUDGE ... ? That means HE has the power to put OTHERS in jail for committing the SAME offense HE committed. You see no HYPOCRISY or DOUBLE STANDARD in that ... ? Thought it might be so obvious it was noticeable, but ...

I conceded that it was against workplace policy, but I personally am no more 'offended' by it than I am by those playing solitaire or browsing other websites during work hours,,

ethics and etiquette are subjective to the employer who hires us, I have worked where they swore like sailors and we were in travel industry,,,,

personally, swearing is as offensive to me as porn ever was,, but, that just means I dont swear at others , not that they are breaking a law by swearing at me

Paternity leave?
Don't that mean he ain't gittin' any?

Too bad he quit. He woulda' made a perfect candidate for the Oblowme team.
Tax cheats, Muslim extremists, left-swingers. They can always use a perv on the team.

good grief, a judge has no authority to JAIL people for looking at porn(except kiddie), because porn is not illegal

the only issue was whether he had permission to use someone elses property(the employer) to do so which is the same issue it would be if he had used the computer to view google or yahoo news...or play solitaire

but what rule that he made did he break? porn on company computers is a company policy issue,

who made the "company" policy? they are leaders and lawmakers, they have a standard we don't follow... they are supposed to set the standards we follow... just like clinton getting his knob polished in office, he broke no rules, but it is an extreme moral factor they need to follow. by them doing these kinds of things, they telling us, the sheeps, that it's ok to not have moral values.

He is a Democrat.

It kinds reminds me of Elliot Spitzer, he aggressively prosecuted escorts and hookers and was also a major client of one of the biggest prostitution rings in the east coast.

Although this guys doesn't seem to breaking any laws.

It is distracting at work and he would spend tax payer payroll looking at porn.
