Yep, Uncle Government's back ... this time he's got a GPS device and he's plantin' it on your car without your knowledge ... and the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals (where's that located, boys 'n grrls?) in CALIFORNIA has said 'Okay - you can do that' ... This is the kind of ruling that will gladden the heart of all the little LibCom Statists ...

Sleep tight ...

The Government Can Use GPS to Track Your Moves

By Adam Cohen Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010

Government agents can sneak onto your property in the middle of the night, put a GPS device on the bottom of your car and keep track of everywhere you go. This doesn't violate your Fourth Amendment rights, because you do not have any reasonable expectation of privacy in your own driveway — and no reasonable expectation that the government isn't tracking your movements.

That is the bizarre — and scary — rule that now applies in California and eight other Western states. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which covers this vast jurisdiction, recently decided the government can monitor you in this way virtually anytime it wants — with no need for a search warrant.

It is a dangerous decision — one that, as the dissenting judges warned, could turn America into the sort of totalitarian state imagined by George Orwell. It is particularly offensive because the judges added insult to injury with some shocking class bias: the little personal privacy that still exists, the court suggested, should belong mainly to the rich.

Them progressives should feel nice and cozy now they know they could be babysat at any time.

They want to monitor my movements, they gonna' have a very boring job.

Pardon? Progressives tend to be against the Drug War...otherwise if a criminal needs tracking then it would be a cheaper and more accurate way of tracking them. Unless people want to return to the 50's and have Dick F'ing Tracy trail the bad guys then this is a great idea.

It was probably a part of the patriot act and all those things the government was allowed to do to us under Bush in the name of national security.

'Scuse, but WHERE does it say it's necessary for the person being tracked by GPS to be (1) a criminal or (2) a drug user? What it SAYS is that Government can track anyone WITHOUT their knowledge. Sounds like a li'l paranoia creepin' in here ...

government has been tracking people for years, nothing new about that... it's the sneaking on peoples property that gets me.. but there is always ways around it. rich people have gates and fences, and quite a few cars. there are devices that people can get at the local spyshop that would detect the gps.

.....You mean the same Patriot Act that the leftist refuse to abolish just because Bush liked it too??

We dont see them doing anything to stop this kind of invasion of privacy, and in fact, we see the 9th circus court of ape-heels saying its okay.

If its okay, then you must be of full acceptance of it, regardless that Bush liked it or not.
You are all for it, no??
