so what do you think of the changes over the years...? Im still a hardcore fan of the original comic book series...but I do enjoy the Dark Knight story line...

My favorite is still the original Detective Comics #27 look, with the weird bat-ears and the purple gloves. By the time Robin came along (Detective #38), the costume had evolved into a sort of typical Sprang-style Batman. So the original look was only there for a very brief time....

I'm a fan of the Golden Age Batman. But I have enjoyed Fran Miller's version, and the Arkham Asylum graphic novel.

For screen- I will always prefer Adam West and Burt Ward as the dynamic duo- they were fantastic together. The 60's Batman movie is my favorite big screen version(But I do love The Dark Knight, and Batman Returns)

I also have the old Batman serials on DVD- I collect all the old serials. The Batman ones are fun, so low-budget they couldn't even afford for Batman and Robin to have a Batmobile(Alfred drove them around)

My fave Batman cast too, although their costumes were a bit weak. Without the masks and capes they look like everyone else cycling to work along the bike paths.

BTW Lee Meriwether was the most sophisticated version of Catwoman

The best non-comic rendition of Batman is undoubtedly Batman: Arkham Asylum, a video game for xbox 360. The characters really come to life, and they obey their DC roots. Unlike Heath Ledger's Joker.

Incidentally, when I was at the Fringe a couple months ago, there was this random person dressed in what looked like an authentic TDK suit. He was still too short to be the real Batman, however.
