Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren Divorce, Report Says

Attorneys say Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren have divorced, the Associated Press reports.

In a joint statement put out by their lawyers, Woods and Nordegren said: "We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us."

The division of property and assets was not included in the divorce filing. Reports have estimated Nordegren, 30, could receive as much as $650 million.

The statement gave some insight into the couple's deliberations over the past months.

"Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern," the statement read.

The statement also said that the divorce judgment "provides for shared parenting of their two children."

The couple have two children, Sam Alexis, 3, and Charlie Axel, 1.

Woods' and Nordegren's marriage fell apart after Woods, 34, crashed his car outside their Florida home the morning after Thanksgiving, 2009.

In the days before the accident, the National Enquirer had printed a story saying that Woods was involved in an affair with an unnamed woman.

In the subsequent weeks, over a dozen women came out saying they had slept with golf's best player.

Wow, $650 Million! Hopefully she gets some of the assets on top of that like a home and his custom built yacht. He put her at great risk. He refused to wear condoms with all the women he cheated with and prior to the marriage. He put her at enormous risks being he was baning porn stars and prostitutes. I hope she gets regular tests. Not to mention he could possibly spread a disease to the children through an open cut etc.

She should also get full custody of the children. He is not responsible enough at this point to take care of them. He is not in the emotional state where he can take care of the kids and be a positive influence. His behavior is erratic and it's clear he only cares about himself.

She is a lot prettier and classier then ANY of the tramps he banged behind her back. Not to mention she seems like a sweetheart and very family orientated. Any guy would be lucky to have her.

Stories like this really bother me. There are a few quality guys out there who would love and cherish a woman and never do this kinda thing to them, but it seems they all go for the a$$holes because of either looks or money.

It actually hurts when I see stuff like this. Alls I've wanted, even since I can remember is to be married and have a wife that I can provide for, cherish, shower with love and affection and treat like a princess. It hurts to see guys just burn through women like this because there are a few of us out there who would never do that to them.
