This is America!! We do not need the filthy mosque's in this country. Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion Ratified 12/15/1791. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Seems you guys only have yourselves to blame...when you complain about what other countrys do or dont allow, remember YOUR CONSTITUTION provides the means for what is happening in your own back yard. yea, it looks like it's getting ready to bite us right square in the azz too... |

If it can be established that Islam is other than a religion, they would fall under religious freedoms. Other than that, they can be made to feel veeerrrry unwelcome. Without bein' harassing that is. Or, they may be just too stupid to accept they ain't wanted here. They will have a bit of a problem renting space without discriminating. A fellow with all the permits could open a Porkys Diner in a space. If they refused to rent, they can be sued. Gay folks could open a Weddin' Chapel. Of course, there will be a gift shop. And they will be sure to stock the Muslim favorite Pole Dancing Doll. |

Sticking his nose into local politics? Since when is defending the Constitution considered local politics? "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." I'll say this too, if we didn't have our (USA) noses stuck into the politics of the middle east, I doubt we would be having this discussion. We were never intended to be an empire. Think about it. |

An exact figure of Muslim population in the United States is very difficult to make. Most accept the estimate of from 5 million to 8 million people in North America claim Islam as their religion and/or practice.
I doubt that they are going to feel "veery unwelcomed"...people keep referring to Islam as an "outside invader" but dont forget that there is a significantly high number of American converts to Islam. |

I hear prison makes men do strange things to survive ... Who wouldn't be scared to hear 'Who's your daddy?' mumbled in Arabic at 0300 ... ? |

" ... whatever the city politics of new york is, what does it have to do with him? doesn't he have a country to run? ... " That 'having a county to run' thing didn't bother him overly much when he decided he could intervene in the affairs of PRIVATE INDUSTRY (say 'GM' and Chrysler') and fire GM's president and then effectively nationalize two out of three private businesses. That was just the start of his sticking his nose into PRIVATE free-market enterprises. He could care less about 'running the country' - he's running it into the dirt, and that's all he really cares about. |

I would say "nationalization of private industry" started when Jr was still in office, with all those bailouts to the PRIVATE banks and auto industry... |

Chrysler was the better deal. |

Hussein is selective about which parts of the constitution he (supposedly)swore to uphold. He was "allegedly" sworn in in private. Not before the nation.

In December, President Bush agreed to loan $9.4 billion to GM and $4 billion to Chrysler. See Also Obama to bankers: 'Help me help you' Obama: More troops not enough VIDEO: Geithner: End booms, busts Last month, GM asked for $16.6 billion more and Chrysler requested an additional $5 billion. Earlier this month, Obama agreed to loan $5 billion to American auto parts manufacturers to help them weather the steep drop in new vehicle orders and the financial uncertainty at the Big Three. they can ask government for bailouts but government should then keep their noses out of how they HANDLE the funds....lol doubtful the administration had every right to speak up, it was their investment I hear the 'private' industry all the time condoning their actions and decisions basing them upon the need to 'answer' to their investors,,,,,,the government has been investing in GM and they answered to the government,,,,no difference |
