We're having a picnic today with my new in laws. Should be beautiful weather. Tomorrow is a relaxing day before a busy week. Gotta get rooms set up and Wednesday is in service meetings. So, Mary, what are you going to be doing this fall? Morning Carol! A picnic sounds fun! I am working in a Headstart classroom again this year. I love the 3/4 year olds. They are so full of wonder and excitment everyday. It is so stimulating to live life through their eyes. Still no openings for a class of my own. Hopefully things will start to get better and they will start hiring again. I am going to the State Fair today with my daughter and grandkids. We were going last night but it rained. Going to be hot and humid today, hope I don't wilt..LOL Have a fun day! Ah yes the state fair. That was so much fun last year. I wish Iowa was closer to PA. I would love to go again. I'll be going to the local fair in 2 weeks. Not nearly as much fun as we had though.

OMG was it hot and humid at the fair yesterday but had an awesome time anyway. Another hot one here again today. 100 out now and climbing. Just got finished watering my wilted plants. Back to work (school) tomorrow. No more lazy days...

We finally got some much needed rain. But now it's more hot and humid than before. Oh well. At least I won't have to water my garden tonight.

Hi Betty and Athos. I have been getting ready for my food show and starting to pack up some of the stuff I don't need here. and your always wanting me to cook for you It just isn't fair!!! But you have been slippin lately

Anyone still here? I am having hot beef sandwiches tonight. My son in law gave me some smoked beef and pork from the fair (he is working at a food stand) so I am making mashed potatoes, some brown gravy, zapping the meat in the micro and calling it a great fast wonderful supper.

Hey Tim, for the cook off contest they had individual and team contests. A group from Linn County called, The Rookies, won their division. Not sure if they cooked pork, beef or poltry tho, didn't catch that.

Saw the cutest picture. This stand draws charatures of people, well you know how they tease us cuz everything is sold on a stick, this picture had a man with a stick up his (you know what) and the caption says, "Husband on a stick".
