I went to the ER this morning. There is a very good chance that I had a miscarriage. I go in two days to have some blood work to determine if this has happened.

I'll probably be disappearing for two days. I will let you know after my blood work.

Oh Tanya. I'm sorry and I truly hope this is just a false alarm as I know you want this baby.

Well, everyone but my er nurse was hopeful.

When I called the doctor's office to set up having my beta level checked.... they are deferring me to go directly to the hospital to have testing.... and the nurse at the doctor's office was talking to me as if there is no chance. Basically the same way the doctor was... eventhough the doctor said it's inconculsive until I do another blood test in two days.

So, you must be really early in the pregnancy? They can't do an ultrasound?

6 weeks past LMP.... did an ultrasound came back normal, but no indication of pregnancy past 4 weeks. It would be too soon to detect a pregnancy by ultrasound anyways.

So, I have to go on Saturday morning to have my beta HCG levels checked.... if increases... still pregnant.... if decreased... not pregnant anymore.

I spent hours last night researching this. This morning I feel less emotional, but angry at the ER doctor. I probably shouldn't, but I do.

A threaten miscarriage is where there is bleeding during a pregnancy before the 20th week and the cervix is closed. Only 30% of threatened miscarriages acutally end up being miscarriages.

I know that because there was clotted blood this isn't a good sign, but the fact that I have stopped bleeding is a good thing. At the very least, it indicates that I don't have an ectopic pregnancy.

I just have to wait until early Saturday morning to see what my beta HCG level is at compared to yesterday.

I don't recall eating much yesterday but drinking orange juice.

I am hungry today.... which is good... even as an indicator of mental health.

Carlos doesn't have to work tomorrow. So, he will be going with me to the hospital.

I have lots of mixed feelings about actually finding out tomorrow if this was a miscarriage or not.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I will be going around 8 am to have the blood work done.
