Clapton IS God!

I lost respect for Clapton when he performed with Elton John at Dodger Stadium. Elton John played over 2 and a half hours of encores. Clapton played his 45 minuets and just left and expected applause at every song and acted like it.
He has a head larger than his talent. He is good but no he is not the best. Ozzy Rules! Period! Dick Dale, Guitar God of Surf! The whole band Queensryche just is above and beyond the rest! Clapton's "Blues" don't compare at all including the depth and complexity of their music. Unto his own music writing talents he wrote very few songs. He mostly "adapted" blues tunes to rock (just like Led Zeppelin who are better than him also). His music is beaten to death here. I am so sick of hearing the song "Crossroads." I could go on naming musicians who are better than him but what is the point? Clapton is good but VASTLY overrated. I found his song "Tears in Heaven" self serving. Granted it was based on a tragedy in his own life but damn if that song didn't gt the crap played out of it too. Blame KLOS for killing the Clapton Experience for me (as well as his elitist attitude). He may have been the shizznit in the 1960s and 1970s but that was then. How about Traffic? That was an awesome band. Eric Burden and the Animals was also a great band back in the day. Clapton was involved with both. These days not a lot of artists want to play with him. You want gods? Fleetwood Mac, and Pink Floyd! Eric Clapton never wrote a WHOLE album the Caliber of Rumors (which was made during the band having a divorce and a break up among its members! Talk about shining in the face of adversity.). Dark Side of the Moon and Meddle are also two albums of a caliber Clapton never could touch. Please don't think I am trying to be a dork, I just get bothered when people put Eric Clapton or anyone else on such a lofty pedestal when they are not all that. Clapton has no heart. He lost touch of his roots and his fans. So for me list me as NOT A FAN OF ERIC CLAPTON AT ALL! Sorry, I really try to be a nice guy but I have my moments! |
