Those that are anonymous don't make a difference to me one way or the other.. It's their thing and they must have reasons.....

I'm a big fan of forthright openness and honesty ...

I've only incorporated my first Avatar into my profile today, after almost 2.5 years membership to this site!

Doesn't mean discretion w/ our most personal, confidential info should be disregarded, of course ...

The deep anonymity of some is disturbing, as I question the motivation and their true identity ...

So? I just don't interact w/ them ...

W/ exception ... Some are great, recognizable posters, and almost always finally put up pics, as the absence thereof was more a lack of techno knowhow than some player issue ...

arent we all kind of anonymous with nothing but a computer screen and a random picture?

Put all the usual mingle members on a street and if they wouldn't recognize each other, they would just walk by without a word.

I've met quite a few minglers and they look just like their pics... I think 90% are on the up and up....

How does this anonymous thing work?

Yep, yep ... And ya really do get a great sense of knowing someone beforehand, w/ any great amount of time spent and the sheer volume of forum/email interactions!

I always figure if you want to know more about me. You will click on my profile. look at the pictures and see one of yours truly. If you don't no big deal. I like to laugh. I like to see how serious people can be. Then all of a sudden they finally crack a smile once they realize 95% of what I say is joking/kidding around.

I think my avatar explains more about me. Than the normal picture of me. at least this way you can tell off the bat. That I'm creative, not serious and I like to laugh. I guess it's all in perspective though. The cartoon tentacles scare a lot of people. As silly as that sounds. Which makes me love it all the more.

What reasons are to go anonymous here?

I believe in total honesty, I have nothing to hide from anybody. If you can't accept me for me, then I don't need you in my life. I don't really understand wanting to be anonymous.

To hide from their significant other.
