Do you think dating is harder in this economy? If so, what would you suggest for dates?

Dating should never be expensive. Save the expensive stuff for when you can actually enjoy yourselves. The beginning stages of dating are just about getting to know each other, not spending money.

true but going on many dates until you find the right one can be expensive.

Simplicity and creativity have always been free.

It's tough dating while between jobs but it can be done.

Only if you're eating and drinking alcohol or going to places that cost money.....like the movies.

First you're just gonna meet for a cup of coffee or a soda to see i you even want to get to a second date. Most of your dates are gonna be eliminated right there.

If you want a second date, make it an afternoon picnic or beach trip where you pack your own lunch.

Once you get comfortable enough to have them to your home you can rent movies or watch TV and cook.

A lot will depend on your mutual interests. Most museums are free. Zoos are typically low cost, but not free.

ok...let me give an example...

you go on a date with one person...that doesn't work (for whatever reason) and you move on. You repeat the process (possibly many times before finding the one)

This adds up (even for coffee) Starbucks can get expensive.

Like I said, how many dates a week are you going on???

Ummmm....yeah, I know. But, seriously....how many dates does the average dater go on in a week? Let's say you date a new guy (or girl) every week. That's a pretty heavy dater in my book. So, that's one cup of coffee a week. Starbucks coffee is $1.55 for plain coffee. If you get a fancy drink it could be much more. But, just coffee....you're only looking at $6 a month.

Now, if you decide on a second date, that means you've probably been upfront about your financial situation and you can discuss something relatively cheap to do. Where I live we have the dollar movie theater and you can go there any day of the week and see a movie for a dollar. So, there's your second date.

After that, you're probably having sex and hanging out at each other's house so it doesn't matter any more. happy

I guess that is for others to reply to. I'm not looking to date. Just giving a topic for discussion

Yeah, I got that. I was using the term "you" in a general sense.
