This topic came up in an earlier thread and made me wonder.
Of course it always comes down to preference...
Gentlemen, what is "feminine" to you?
Ladies, what do you consider "masculine"?

To me masculine means a manly man a protector yet gentle.... one that has that air of confidence......and has a body to boot.......

My self I'm looking more for the Worldly type, one that likes to joke around and cut up, one that knows his way around the kitchen or willing to help out, one that don't mind helping do the yard work, he is all man and acts like one.......... but yet has a tender side and don't mind showing it...... Hummm shshhs wake up girl sorry I got off track...............damn daydreams............

right on Kristi..that's what I'm wondering. To some it's their physical, I'm thinking kinda like you are , it's more than their physical attributes, but that is, can be part of it.

I like the pic of you and your kids

When men say they like feminine women the first thing I think of is small, waifish, soft spoken, lacy dresses, carefree... not any of that is a bad thing. Am I wrong?

Masculine for me means:

A Semi-Toned Body
Muscular Arms
Nicely Trimmed Facial Hair
A Deep Strong Voice
A Stern and Confident Stride
Gentlemanly Etiquette

well row, no men are coming in and that's what I'm wanting to know. Someone posted something earlier about the kind of women he likes are feminine and girly So I'm wondering what exactly that is. Is it a look or action, speech, mannerism....
inquiring minds want to know, damn it! laugh

I believe the word he used was Stepford Wife. God, that was a good movie. Did you ever see the second one where they stopped killing the women and just drugged them?

I just think of it as a woman who owns her femininity. It is an essence thing...a confidence thing. It is the same for men ...

I consider myself feminine in that I dress girly. I like clothes, hair, makeup, etc. I wear heels to work and my favorite attire is skirts. I like to be treated with respect by a man and feel loved and protected. But, I'm also extremely independent, too. Which isn't usually considered a "feminine" trait.

well I did say somewhere else on here that i like a masculine man.

a man who leads, but knows when to back off; quiet confidence; sexed (just is, period.); well groomed; ya know the ZZTop well dresses man type; holds my gaze, I feel safe in his arms, loves my weakness for him

I don't consider my self feminine..girly. I mean I can do the dress up thing alright. I wear skirts more than pants, will put on make up..Just never would think of myself that way. Raising boys maybe..

- A man that can emotionally and financially stand on his own two feet
- A man who is not an egomaniac and doesn’t use manipulation or anger to get his way
- A man who can protect without being possessive
- Tall, moderately muscular but not a meathead
- A guy who is not afraid to take care of the ugly by waxing/shaving the hair from his entire torso (or back if needed ), trims the nose hairs, etc.
- An athlete with a nice sense of couture style; Nike by day and Calvin Klein by night

Basically, a man who is comfortable in is own skin and doesn’t need to burp, fart, act obnoxious or look like a grizzly bear to prove he is a man.

See now Melody..the lack of hair would not be masculine to me.
I think that body hair (within reason, no monkey back) is masculine.
Men have hair, just the way it is..so to take it all off would be taking off the masculine, part of what makes them a man. I like a chest with hair on it..and I really dig a little "happy trail" I must be old school that way, cause with all the young friends I have, I do realize the shaving thing is in... I know a guy that's about 10 years older than me that shaves his armpits..I find that creepy, why would a 60 year old guy want to shave his armpits... hmmmmm
